This forum is for those souls 18 years and older who are dealing with some type of addictive behavior whether it be from alcohol, drugs, overeating, fear, worry, sex, etc. Only with help and guidance from God can we ever hope to overcome these addictions. What is impossible for us to do IS POSSIBLE with God. Friends and family of those stricken with addictions are welcome to share as this problem affects more than just the soul entangled in its web.

Replacing the Addiction

Postby --- » Sun Sep 13, 2009 9:39 pm

I have been struggling with internet porn addiction have tried again and again to overcome this plague.

Finally, I stumbled across this website and decided to sign up for this support group to give me something better to do with my time and to have some accountability for my actions. I still struggle and I still have questions.

One question I would like to throw out there is this:

Is it ok for a husband and wife to watch educational sex videos together or is this still wrong?

Thanks Skrubby.

I did read your post and yes, I exhibit many of the same emotions and issues you address. I am just sick and tired of being chained to this horrible thing. I want out of it but it seems at times that the temptation is just too great. I am glad that this group is here.

Welcome to the S. O. S. group chef80. I think you will find a lot of support here, and I just want you to know that God is proud of you for taking this step to try and help you overcome this struggle. I won't tell you that this will be an easy struggle to fight, but I will tell you that there is Hope, and that you can overcome this by relying on the Lord. I will be praying for you.

Take care and God Bless
Do you know my Jesus? Do you know my friend? Have you heard He loves you? If not, I'd like to introduce you.

welcome chef

the good news is that sexual sin is no worse in God's eyes than any other kind of sin. God forgives it, Christ died to set us free from it! Both Jesus (Matthew 15:18-20) and the Apostle Paul (1 Corinthians 6:9-11) mentioned sexual sin in the same breath with other less serious

My sister Jill and Mlg both said it so well. Coming from the standpoint of a sister in Christ; taking the courage to step forth and actually 'name' the spirit that is plaguing you will go a long way towards your healing process.

I strongly urge you seek one-2-one help though, possibly in your church or community. there is nothing more refreshing to know then the thot of "...I am NOT alone in this"

Your wife and the bond you both have with Christ will go that extra mile when dealing with the healing process that needs to occur. Our flesh will always be weak, and the devil knows when to throw those curve balls.

An awesome movie I would reccomend you and your wife viewing is "Fireproof". The main character struggles with this same addiction, and how he overcomes it is nothing short of God's reigning glory.
