asking for prayer

Postby lilbittysmiles » Tue May 15, 2012 4:15 pm

i'm new here and i'm asking for prayer. my husband has custody of his children, his ex was ordered to rehab...from there you probably can guess most of the story...my step kids moved out 2 years ago to live with their mother....well, my stepdaughter is on probation and has been for 6 months now, has run away from her mothers several times in the last 2 yrs, but won't come home because we have "rules", my stepson is convinced of the lies he has been told, so he hasn't spoken to us in 2 months, he graduated 2 days ago. both are into dope. they lost their half brother in feb. he was also into drugs, which he started when he came to live with their mother when he was 15, he was 23 when he passed, their sister was raised by her father.

my children and I were very close to my stepchildren until their mother came back into their life. she came back when she was arrested for owing child support. since then their lives have been turned upside down.

i'm asking for prayer for the healing of not only my stepchildren, but their half sister, my 3 children who miss their step siblings, their mother (my husband's X, she did just lose a son in a car accident), and for my husband and I. Our family needs healing in so many ways. And if you would, please keep my oldest son in prayer for another reason, he is currently in Afghanistan, he is a US Marine, as well as all our troops.

Thank you so much. I didn't know who to talk to about this. So used to smiling on the outside, crying on the inside. God Bless you all.

Praying in accord. We lift our prayers to our Father in heaven. In the name of your son Jesus may you bring healing, protection and the pouring of your Love to this family. May a legion of angels turn the children back to the safety of your servant.
Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27

thank you for the prayers. i spoke with my youngest two, and wrote to my oldest who is in Afghanistan (my oldest fought a battle with alcohol and won, praise Jesus!) I felt tremendous guilt asking my youngest two to stay away and not contact their step siblings because of their current drug use, and the people they associate with. I explained to them that was out of my own fears, that i should trust in God, in the way the way their father, their stepfather and I raised them and their own judgement to know right from wrong, and that they would trust us enough to come to us if they ever got into a situation they felt was wrong. my daughter smiled at me, patted me on the hand and told me "you just worry too much, we don't want that stuff in our lives". my son told me "i don't like gossips, drugs, alcohol or liars, or the drama that comes from it. i don't know them anymore mom, i don't think they know themselves anymore, so don't worry so much". they both said they forgave me for doubting them that they would do the right thing. but i think my guilt was coming from i was giving them a choice, without actually saying it- "if you pick them, stay away from me"...which is why my step kids left in the first place...they had to choose between their mother and father...mom threatened in not so many words to abandon them again, because she has done it so many times before, they couldn't handle it anymore. Now if they love their father, it means they don't love their mother. and if they even speak to me, it means they don't love their mother. it's really sad. so i continue to pray for healing, for everyone involved. i don't understand this kind of - i'm guessing hate, maybe it's insecurity..either way, it's works of Satan. and it's hurting children..and it's horrible. my step daughter once had dreams of going to Princeton or a school like it, she was on the honor roll in honor's classes. now she can barely do basic algebra. her new goal is to move to California to make hippie skirts while her fiance learns body piercings and selling marijuana. I have no idea what my step son wants to do, at one time he wanted to start a christian rock band, he isn't there any more. but i still hold out hope, my son beat alcohol, my step children can beat this too. i hold on to my faith. thank you again for your prayers and being a shoulder. GOD BLESS.

Prayers going up to you and your family.
I may have wisdom, and knowledge on Earth
but if I speak wrong, then what is it worth?
See, what we now know is NOTHING compared
to the love that was shown when our lives were spared!
