Forgiveness of self

This forum is for those souls 18 years and older who are dealing with some type of addictive behavior whether it be from alcohol, drugs, overeating, fear, worry, sex, etc. Only with help and guidance from God can we ever hope to overcome these addictions. What is impossible for us to do IS POSSIBLE with God. Friends and family of those stricken with addictions are welcome to share as this problem affects more than just the soul entangled in its web.

Forgiveness of self

As most of you know, I have a broken collar bone in which has laid me up and allowed me to spend more time here. Last night while was in pain in bed, Iwas thinking and praying about somethings that has occurred on this site that people are dealing with. And this issue was very hard and painful for me because of my past. I knew God had forgiven me but I simply could not forgive myself.I don't know why but couldn't. So I was miserable and carried guilt. After a time, I realized everyone in the Bible had sinned and moist were great ones. God uses the ones that have been there so we can relate and help. A verse came to mind early this morning I want to share. It is Philippians 3:13
Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I use to dwell in my past sins ans mistakes. It made me miserable even though I was trying to be good and live for God. God's love and grace covers these sins and He remembers them no more. As far as the east is from the west. The devil uses this to try to keep us down and unhappy. If we are truly sorry and repent then we become a new creature in Christ. And if those past thoughts pop up, tell satan to get thee behind me cause the Blood of Jesus has cleansed me . It's a process of becoming a whole person again and it requires study and prayer. I suggest the study on forgiveness and learn that God created me and have learned to try not to beat myself up over my past mistakes and sins. I write this early this morning because God laid on my heart that we have many here that are dealing with our past. And hey, I still do too, but I dismiss the though quickly now knowing the TRUTH. I am not perfect and never will be. God knew what He was doing when He created me. Today is a new day. We can become better people but we have to work on it. Can't snap the ole finger and it's gone!. We grow day by day and by sharing and learning that we can become whole again is a plus. Jesus came so that we might have life more abundantly. And know what? My life is 10 fold better since I've learned this and each day I heal a little more. Let me say this: Be good to yourself and believe that God forgives and make you whole again. Try the studies here at the site. Open up and share. Be Real. We all have fallen short. ALL of us. So begin today to heal and know that the stafff here are here to help and listen. The studies do wonders and if you hurt enough as I did , you will do anything to bring peace and joy back into your life. I care and I love all old you and just want each to have a smile on their face so people will ask why you are smiling. Then you can say because Jesus has set me free. Amen? Luv Ya. Real *harp*

Amen real yipeeeeeeeee...you have seen the truth and heard it now....we hear but not really at times..but you have opened yourself up to Him in a new way..and now you have listened my friend..and heard, and it has gone from your head..to your heart, He who the Son sets free,is free indead...yes we all have sinned..yes we all have past that we have done wrong in,and others have done stuff to us..and the enemy comes to rob, kill and destroy..but we are God's property, not his, so yes resist him and his lies,he is the accuser of the brethren, he is always reminding us of our past, but you have the key to put him to flight now, and to move on and help others do the same...Good on ya real *harp* Oh my
