amen on that one p.
Prayerful wrote:eventually we do see the light and the truth.

and just because we see it doesn't mean we will ever be able to overcome it. especially if we've damaged our metabolic systems over decades of abuse and fad diets, as we tried to overcome in our own strength.
i do think there is some truth in what tam said:
Tam wrote:Just meant to be fat is all I can say
in that we are who we are for a purpose. God created all our circumstances before we were formed in the womb. He knew who our families would be and He saw how we would be treated. He knew how we would respond in all our circumstances. Did He predestine us for it? no i dont believe so. did He see it? yes. He made us and knew our story and created us so that our purposes in our lives encompass all those situations we endured and overcame through Him... Testimony!!

does He care what we look like? no. does He want us healthy? absolutely. does thin in the eyes of the world = healthy? not necessarily.

just a couple of my cents worth...love all yall *BigGrin*

as children when we are raised that we cannot leave the table unless we clean our plate, if you dont eat what is served you will get beat for it.......it is imbedded into our heads that we must eat it all and it sticks with us through out out adult life as well.

Yes! Yes! Yes!! Thank you for saying that! I have always struggled to leave food on my plate...especially when someone else has prepared the meal, but even if I am the cook. Growing up in the south, there were plenty of buffets around, I remember more than once being told I hadn't eaten enough to justify having been taken out. Looking back I know I had eaten far more than a child that age should in one sitting.

I have toyed with the idea of joining you all for awhile now...don't know what about reading today pushed me over the edge, but if you'll have me I would like to come along for the ride. The last two weeks our entire house has been striving to eat healthier, but I have the alterior motive of wanting to lose a certain amount of weight before I am in the states in August. A little accountability will be a very good thing I think!

Tam...been so inspiring watching the changes in you over the last few weeks...thank you for setting an example for me!
