The Scars of Life

This forum is for those souls 18 years and older who are dealing with some type of addictive behavior whether it be from alcohol, drugs, overeating, fear, worry, sex, etc. Only with help and guidance from God can we ever hope to overcome these addictions. What is impossible for us to do IS POSSIBLE with God. Friends and family of those stricken with addictions are welcome to share as this problem affects more than just the soul entangled in its web.

Hello, my friends.

This is an old thread, but I love the story of this child and his amazing outlook. This child chose to embrace the love of his father. The scars were a constant reminder to him of what his father did to save his life.

Our Father in heaven loves us the same way. He came to earth in the flesh. He was threatened, plotted against, taunted, gossiped about, betrayed, spat upon, tortured, beaten, and crucified on a cross.

Jesus had the power to stop these terrible things from happening. But what if He did? What would have happened to us?

Look at the beauty of what He did. He died on the cross and His blood covers the sins of those who receive Him. He saved us from sin, so that we may spend eternity with our Father in heaven.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Terrible things happen to us in this world. Yes, God certainly has the power to stop them from happening. He does intervene at times. It is difficult to understand why He does not stop the abuse. His will be done as He knows what is best.

God has a plan for us. We can be sure He is with us when the abuse was happening. He loves us and wants us to come to Him with our pain and anguish. Give it to the Lord. Lay it at His feet. Let go of it and let God heal you.

Victory over abuse is YOURS in CHRIST.

God bless everyone. May the Lord give you the peace, love, and joy of Jesus.
