Special Occasions

Birthdays, Christmas, Easter, and the like...they take us back. They are suspose to. It's a memorial day of what happened in the past.

What though when these days that others find so wonderful take us back to horrible memories?

It can make one angry, even weeks before hand as we hear others talking about it and preparing for it. They are joyful, yet our spirits cringe with in us, and we feel sufficated by the memories that flow.

A little kids birthday can take us back to our own, where it was just a special day to be beatin again. This time there was no anger behind it, it was just fun and games. That is to those involved except the birthday kids hides as the tears flow.

Accept it as it was. People being led by the enemy and doing his will blindly.

Forgive those invovled, including self. So you feel jipped? So was Jesus. He didn't do anything to deserve what they gave him. He was mistreated as well. Yet he died for those who mistreated him.
As he cried these words, "Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots."
Luk 23:34

As the Holidays approach let us throw off the things of the past that are hindering us from being all who God intended.

Hbr 12:1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.

the sin that so easily entangles - could be unforgiveness
*angel7* Sorrow looks back, Worry looks around, But faith looks up! Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly and trust in our Creator who loves us.
