living

This forum is for those souls 18 years and older who are dealing with some type of addictive behavior whether it be from alcohol, drugs, overeating, fear, worry, sex, etc. Only with help and guidance from God can we ever hope to overcome these addictions. What is impossible for us to do IS POSSIBLE with God. Friends and family of those stricken with addictions are welcome to share as this problem affects more than just the soul entangled in its web.

hey Ofamily!

long time since i have posted here. but i am here because i need to be \o/ i have many posts in the forums about my addictions, including food. i was anorexic and bulemic from early teens until about 18 months ago - about 29 years. and God has made me healthy and happy.

all that i am going to say comes from my heart and is full of love for you, as i want nothing other than for all of you to be fully blessed in all your endeavors.

for as long as i tried within my own self and my desires i could not get healthy. no matter what i tried - and i tried everything. all i succeeded in was nearly killing myself. it has to be God. you have to give it completely and entirely over to Him. as long as i tried i would not succeed. while my main concern in my life was to be attractive in the eyes of humanity, God would not allow me to be truly healthy. the roots of the lies that the enemy planted in my garden had to be destroyed before healing could come - you have to be healed to become healthy.

HE did not create us to be idle. as much as i would like to sit and play my video game all day, i cannot become healthy doing so. we must use our body and through using it and honoring God through it He will allow our health to return. we have to honnestly forgive everyone who hurt us - every single little hurt that comes into your mind, even if you think to yourself"oh that little ole thing? thats nothing. it didnt need forgiveness." yes it does. and then, even more importantly, you have to forgive yourself! every little tiny thing! the more roots you destroy the healthier you can become!

and it's not about how much you weigh. throw the scale away and quit beating yourself with numbers! all the numbers do is contradict what God is telling you! even the size numbers...they don't matter. your body is temporary. the important thing is get your eternal self healthy first and the body will come along with time.

dont worry about what your going to eat. God tells us to trust Him because He will provide. trust Him first and the rest will fall into place. it took me a year of gaining weight before my body was ready to start following along with my spiritual healing. now i have an exercise program that works for me and i feel so good about myself. and my relationship with God is so strong! and growing stronger every day!

dont be discouraged. dont listen to the enemies lies! Remember he wants us to be miserable. he wants us to feel like failures because then he gains ground in his effort to pull us away from our Father who loves us.

1 Cor 6:12-20
12All things are lawful for me, but not all things are profitable. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be mastered by anything. 13Food is for the stomach and the stomach is for food, but God will do away with both of them. Yet the body is not for immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord is for the body. 14Now God has not only raised the Lord, but will also raise us up through His power. 15Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take away the members of Christ and make them members of a prostitute? May it never be! 16Or do you not know that the one who joins himself to a prostitute is one body with her? For He says, “THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH.” 17But the one who joins himself to the Lord is one spirit with Him. 18Flee immorality. Every other sin that a man commits is outside the body, but the immoral man sins against his own body. 19Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? 20For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.
