Praying for the Anointing to Fall

Hello Christianity Oasis, All...
Blessings!
I love the Word of God! Scripture tells us in the Book of Hebrews chapter 4, verse 12, that
the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Forty-five years ago I was in San Diego, California on a training mission. I had a friend there, as sweet and pure a young lady as you will ever want to meet. She had found the Lord and was eager for me to attend a Wednesday night church service with her. I too had recently been saved and filled with the Holy Spirit, so I whole heartedly agreed and off we went. The auditorium was small, with space for about 50 worshippers I would say. A Marine from Camp Pendleton had come down to preach the message that night, but first, questions were asked of those new to the gathering. When it came my turn to speak, I blurted out, "I'm sanctified!"
Little did I know at the time, but my saying was about to become the message out of the Word of God for the night. Immediately after the Marine took the stage he called out to the elder sister of the church to pray for the anointing to fall. I didn't quite know what that meant, but boy was I ever about to find out! It was like an unseen cloud of fire filled the auditorium...first the Marine began to twitch a little, then his legs seemed to take over and move him back and forth on his heels unlike anything I had ever seen at the time, or anything since for that matter!
Then boy did he ever bring it! Each and every word that came out of his mouth was like the crack of a bullwhip, like flashes of lightning ripping through thunderheads! And when he finished we all rushed the stage and fell on our faces before God. Believe me you all, that kind of preaching brings both repentance and revival!
Here is what the Apostle Paul had to say about the matter. 1Cor.2
[4] And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power. Hey, you all, we need more of this kind of this kind of preaching where there is the demonstration of the Spirit of God, and of His Power! Let us press on into the Spirit of the Lord so that such manifestations of His power will be made manifest among all that call upon the Name of the Lord all the more and more!!
Blessings!
