Easter and the other side of the cross; part 1

Hosted by Saint 701 ... This forum is for the purpose of examining the subject of Grace and its great place in God's work in the body of Christ Jesus of which we are a part. "The Book of Romans" was chosen for the title since that book is so rich in Grace to us, but in no way is this forum limited in examining Grace to only the "Book of Romans."

Each year Christians here in St. Louis and around the world worship our Lord by remembering His exceedingly great travail on our behalf in bearing our sins in His own body upon a tree. We are passionate about doing so. We identify ourselves with Him as the story unfolds, not realizing all of us are in Him as His seed, and as such to be planted in the earth with Him.

We've noticed for quite some time that the majority of the emphasis during Easter each year is placed on our Lord's travail culminating with great rejoicing in His resurrection from the dead. Such is unfortunate as there is so much more to celebrate. Why not add another week of celebration on the other side of the cross? After all, it is on the other side of the cross that we receive all that our Lord's resurrection gained for us.

That extra week celebrating each facet of our vast inheritance with the Lord would certainly clarify how we as seed become members of God's household rather than religious drones that know nothing of their great potential as spiritual men and women, born of God, not of man. As a consequence of celebrating the truth on the other side of the cross rather than returning to the deadness of the religious, we believe Christianity would be seen as the light of the world, rather than just another religion in the world.

In a series of four articles we wrote for Examiner last spring during the month of May, we examined various glaring errors theologians plagued the Christian churces of the world with from the get go. The articles were a scathing indictment of church leaders of numerous denominations that for centuries have embraced a set of near sighted tenets they inappropriately attribute to the Apostles. The original authors named the tenets The Apostle's Creed even though they were not our Lord's Apostles.

The creed itself was written by devout religious men from approximately three to seven hundred A.D.. The problem we have with the creed is that it fails to give us a complete picture of salvation planned for us by our Heavenly Dad before the world began. Paul called the plan a secret kept hidden from ages and generations, the secret itself to be revealed on the other side of the cross, Christ in us, our hope of glory!

Such gives us great reason to celebrate after Easter Sunday, and over the course of the next week we will discuss those things worthy of celebration on the other side of the cross.

It is most certainly far better to die in faith believing, than it is to live in unbelief.
