Hello St. Louis!

In our most recent article we asked the question, "Why does our celebration of Easter here in St. Louis end each year with the resurrection of our Lord?" We pointed out that our Lord's resurrection was not the end all in terms of those things gained for us by and through it. Yet we make the celebration of our Lord's resurrection just that, the end all of our Easter festivities when such is really only the beginning.

"Why is that?" We asked. We offered one possible explanation, that being most denominations have as their religious foundation The Apostle’s Creed, a set of religious tenets that pretty much end with our Lord's resurrection, leaving out those magnificent things worthy of celebration on the other side of the cross, such being our point of furtherance. We all have the need to know and understand those tenets in the Gospel of our Lord that The Apostle’s Creed failed to include. After all, it is in the tenets not in The Apostle’s Creed we find our inheritance with the saints in light.

Tenet Number One

Christ came that we might have life, and have it more abundantly. John.10:10.

We love the statements of our Lord, period, but there are some that are more definitive than others and we love them the most of all. John 10:10 is just such a scripture. It tells us exactly how valuable our Lord is to us. He brings us life. In the Old Testament few had life, such being the Spirit of God in them. Only the kings, priests, and prophets were our Lord’s anointed vessels.

However, in the first coming of our Lord, He essentially says, “I bring life for more.” Now one might think there is some kind of anointing to be given to all that believe in terms of the average lay person and that is true in a sense, but not how such is to be interpreted. Christ has come to all of us that believe to elevate our status in this life to that of priests and kings through the outpouring of His Holy Spirit upon us all, as only priests and kings are anointed.

Rev.1

[6] And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

Rev.5

[10] And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

Thus we see in Christ’s coming to us to bring us life a tenet that if part of The Apostle’s Creed would have stopped Christianity from becoming divided into the haves and the have nots. All of us would be haves and worthy of the same respect. However, in the absence of the anointing upon all and respect for all, Christianity fell from its intended spiritual form into the vanity of religion, once again keeping the masses from having the Spirit upon them, negating our Lord’s reason in coming to us in the first place.

Christ came to us that we might have life, and have it more abundantly. That life He came to bring us is an anointed, spiritual life, a life in the Spirit of God worthy of kings and priests.
