Easter and the other side of the cross part 4; the sons of G

Hosted by Saint 701 ... This forum is for the purpose of examining the subject of Grace and its great place in God's work in the body of Christ Jesus of which we are a part. "The Book of Romans" was chosen for the title since that book is so rich in Grace to us, but in no way is this forum limited in examining Grace to only the "Book of Romans."

As mentioned in the first article in this series, we have problems with The Apostle’s Creed as it is now. Not only does it contain the over-use of generalizations, too much past tense, and a superficial understanding of the gospel of God, it blocks the seeker from seeing the glory of God’s plan to make us members of His royal family. Yes, Jesus Christ was born of a virgin and was the only begotten son of God, but only until He passed away on the Cross of Calvary.

Afterward however, when the day of His resurrection came, He became the first born Son of God from the dead, a new creation of God, the first born of a new species of man, a new species that would have the strength, the love nature and spiritual mind of the resurrected Jesus Christ within them. (Christ in you, the hope of glory). Now He is no longer God’s only begotten Son, but the first born Son of God from the dead, the progenitor of a new race of man bearing His name Jesus and called the sons and daughters of God.

The creed should have included a declaration of just how wonderful it is to be reborn of the Spirit, given an entirely new nature in Christ Jesus, called into fellowship with Christ and the Father, made the sons and daughters of God, and brought into the household of God Almighty.

1John.3

[1] Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons (and daughters) of God.

Heb.2

[10] For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many son (and daughters) unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

Rom.8

[14] For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons (and daughters) of God.
[15] For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
[16] The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children, (sons and daughters), of God:
[17] And if children, (sons and daughters), then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

It is most certainly far better to die in faith believing, than it is to live in unbelief.
