The 7 Churches of Revelation; Preface
Understanding the 7 Churches of Revelation
Good Morning Christianity Oasis and Guests! I hope all is well with you this day.
Blessings!
What amazes me about the numerous churches that exist around the world today is the diversity of doctrine that separates them. For example, Jehovah's Witnesses say that there is no place in the Bible that declares Jesus God, and therefore all worship must be directed toward Jehovah. Fine, but I know of 3 places in the Bible that refute their claim.
Isa.9
[6] For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
John.8
[58] Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
John.20
[28] And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.
[29] Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.
Rev.1
[8] I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
7th Day Adventists separate themselves from other Christian communities by claiming that Saturday is the day we should have church and not Sunday. However, in order to do so, as with the Jehovah's Witnesses, they must ignore scripture that refutes such.
John.20
[1] The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre. [19] Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
Acts.20
[7] And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.
And if we consider the 10 commandments we can plainly see that the Sabbath is a day of rest. Jesus did not rise from the dead on the Sabbath, but upon the first day of the week...Sunday...he arose and did work that day.
Another group claims responsibility for changing our day of worship from Saturday to Sunday. Of course Acts 20:7 tells us our Lord's disciples worshipped Him on Sunday long before that people did.
There are Christians “still” that find no problem in combining their church services with those actively practicing witchcraft. I was unwittingly part of such a service. A prayer was offered up to the 4 winds of Heaven. The next day sustained winds of 40 mph came howling in from all directions. I immediately sought a place out of sight from everyone to intercede on behalf of all the participants in the ceremony of the 4 winds, pleading the blood of Jesus before God, asking Him to close all doors opened to devils. Shortly after I prayed, the winds subsided and calm was restored. Combining either witchcraft or pagan practices or both with a Christian service will bring a severe rebuke from our Lord at the very least, and if the rebuke isn’t heeded death and damnation will follow.
What's my point? My point is this. There are doctrinal issues among most churches, (denominations or non-denominational) that do not agree with scripture, making each of those churches open to a certain amount of scrutiny by our Lord, the consequence of that being His stern rebuke. Such is the case with 5 of the 7 churches in Asia judged by our Lord in the Book of Revelation.
Of course papers and books have been written about the 7 churches of Revelation explaining such in terms of time periods, and I have no problem with that as in a sense they parallel the history of Christian churches. However, in this article we will examine the practices or lack thereof our Lord either likes or dislikes where His 7 churches were concerned in the Book of Revelation.
In the examples I cited above the PERFECT TRUTH IN THE BIBLE OVERULES ALL FALLACIOS DOCTRINES FOUND IN MOST OF THE CHURCHES AROUND THE WORLD TODAY. UNFORTUNATELY, MOST OF US HAVE BEEN RAISED A CHRISTIAN IN THOSE CHURCHES IN THE WORLD TODAY THAT SIMPLY DISCOUNT, DISCREDIT, MISUNDERSTAND, MISREPRESENT, DENY, OR BASTARDIZE PORTIONS OF THE HOLY SCRIPTURES.
Blessings!

It is most certainly far better to die in faith believing, than it is to live in unbelief.
