Easter and the other side of the cross part 5; glory and imm

Hosted by Saint 701 ... This forum is for the purpose of examining the subject of Grace and its great place in God's work in the body of Christ Jesus of which we are a part. "The Book of Romans" was chosen for the title since that book is so rich in Grace to us, but in no way is this forum limited in examining Grace to only the "Book of Romans."

2Tim.1

[10] But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel...

It isn’t surprising church leaders after the Roman persecution were somewhat hesitant to put the teeth of our Lord’s gospel in the creed they penned at the council of Nicaea in 325 A.D. It is difficult to believe that the Almighty God has stretched out His arms toward us to gather us into His Kingdom not only as his sons and daughters, but also to clothe us with the same glory and honor as our progenitor, our Lord and savior Jesus Christ, God’s first born son from the dead.

Even when one is a new born babe of God and filled with his Spirit of Truth, it isn’t unusual for such a person to have doubts that scriptures like Romans 8 verses 29 and 30 could be describing them. The mind is not yet spiritual and becomes confused when reading some of the passages that follow.

Rom.8

[29] For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
[30] Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

And yet such is the case, even though such has been made more visible to all as the signs of the time make it increasingly clear the day that we live in. Our problem is unbelief. We would rather have confidence in the mind of our flesh, than embrace our high calling in Christ Jesus. Yet if we embrace the greatness of the gospel, and continue in the faith, the Holy Spirit will raise us up in Christ to see the great hope of our calling.

4Ezra.7

[43] But the day of doom shall be the end of this time, and the beginning of the immortality for to come, wherein corruption is past,

4Ezra.8

[54] Sorrows are passed, and in the end are showed the treasures of immortality.

Seeing now that the blindness of the ages because of unbelief is past, and the field is white all over for harvest, those that rule the churches should be more willing to embrace the light of the gospel, and hate their unbelief. If we put aside the blinding rites and rituals that declare in forms what the Spirit of God makes real in experience to us, and embrace his working in us, he will open our eyes to see the magnificent treasures of glory, honor, and immortality awaiting the sons and daughters of God.

Rom.2

[7] To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life:

1Cor.15

[53] For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

[54] So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

It is most certainly far better to die in faith believing, than it is to live in unbelief.
