Validating the New Testament

Hosted by Saint 701 ... This forum is for the purpose of examining the subject of Grace and its great place in God's work in the body of Christ Jesus of which we are a part. "The Book of Romans" was chosen for the title since that book is so rich in Grace to us, but in no way is this forum limited in examining Grace to only the "Book of Romans."

Blessings!

How does one validate his/her Christian life without the direct teaching of intellectuals that are presumed to lead us and guide us in the right way? Some of us at one time or another have been held captive by these professorial types. We say held captive because spiritual life has been shrouded in undefined terms such as mysticism and Gnosticism, then intentionally or unintentionally equated with the practices of other religions such as Hinduism or Buddhism.

Said Christian pathway then becomes something of an intellectual transcendence we work out within ourselves over many years. Our goal is to become enlightened and transcend to the higher level of imitating Christ through our love. Rarely is such taught in churches, however. We are not intellectually equipped to lay hold of such knowledge. Besides, if some of us could, we would have to abandon our work in the world for monastic pursuits. Such is not true. We know many that continually grow in the Spirit of God that also hold down jobs in the world.

Ho hum , OUR
It is most certainly far better to die in faith believing, than it is to live in unbelief.
