Hosted by Saint 701 ... This forum is for the purpose of examining the subject of Grace and its great place in God's work in the body of Christ Jesus of which we are a part. "The Book of Romans" was chosen for the title since that book is so rich in Grace to us, but in no way is this forum limited in examining Grace to only the "Book of Romans."

Understanding the dynamics of our own recreated spirit

Hello All,

Spiritual dynamics! Kingdom of Heaven Dynamics! The Apostle Paul asks us, are we spiritual, or are we yet carnal? Carnal, of course, means of the flesh. Thus, if we would truly understand whether we are yet of the flesh, or now spiritual, we must examine our actions. The Apostle Paul compares actions that are spiritual with actions that are of the flesh.

Gal. 5 (Unless otherwise stated, all scriptures posted here are KJV).

19] Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
[20] Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
[21] Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
[22] But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
[23] Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

However, do these scriptures help us understand the working dynamics of our own recreated spirit? No, they do not. They simply allow us to see our progress on the road to becoming spiritual, and warn us of the dangers inherent in continuing to practice being carnal. What, then, are the spiritual dynamics inherent in our own recreated spirit?

The Apostle Paul tells us that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.
The Apostle John tells us that our Lord Himself has given us of His Spirit. The Apostle Paul, without intending to do so, reveals a quality of our own recreated spirit in Hebrews chapter 12:29 where he says of God, He is a consuming fire.

Of our spirit, then, since the Lord has given us of His Spirit, or recreated our spirit in the likeness of His own...when we see Him as He is, we shall be like Him. Here, then, is a spiritual dynamic of our own recreated spirit, fire! As Christ Jesus Himself was described by the Apostle Paul as the Eternal Word of God, that is our intended spiritual nature, and that nature being that of fire. How do we know this? We know this in two ways, (1), by our own spiritual experience, and (2), by the Bible.

First of all we will discuss God as fire from the Bible. Our Lord appeared to Moses as fire upon a bush that was not consumed, and after their exodus from Egypt as a fire by night. After our Lord's resurrection, in Luke 24:32 we read, "Did not our heart burn within us, while He talked with us by the way, and while He opened to us the scriptures? In Acts.2:3 we read, "and there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them." Fire, then, must be a spiritual dynamic of our own recreated spirit, since our Lord has given us of His Spirit.

Heb.1

[7] And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.

The second way we know that our recreated spirit is made in the image of God and as such is of His fire, is through experience. For those so baptized in the Holy Spirit, such know that inside their heart, is from time to time, a burning fire. They know that this spiritual dynamic operating in their spirit can be of comfort. They know such can be a sign of caution. They know such can be power. They know such may indicate prayer. Paul said that we have not been given a spirit of fear, but of power, (fire that does not consume our spirit as such did not consume the burning bush), fire to preach the Gospel of the Kingdom, fire to lay hands on the sick, fire with which to withstand attacks by the enemy, fire with which to speak with new tongues.

Many ministers baptized in the Holy Spirit report the experience of fire burning in the palms of both their hands when the Holy Spirit is present in their spirit operating. It is said that He is there for the purpose of imparting the baptism of the Holy Spirit or healing the sick when the palms of one's hands burn like fire. Others have reported this same fire jumping from the palm of one hand to the palm of the other hand when a spirit of darkness, (demon), is present.

The fire of God in our spirit also produces love, and not love only, but joy, peace, long suffering, etc. This working dynamic in our spirit most likely will not be experienced as a feeling of fire, but develop within us as we become "willing" to be less carnal and more "willing" to be more spiritual. It is only when we are entirely willing to love our Heavenly Lord of Lord King of Kings Lord God Almighty Love Dad with all of our heart, mind, soul, and strength, that He reveals Himself to us in the person of His Spirit as that of Love, and imparts His Love into our spirit, making our spirit a spirit of love.

Soundness of mind does not necessarily mean a bright intellectuality that is the quality of a successful graduate of a school of divinity, although one's spiritual dynamic of mind is that of Christ our Lord. The spiritual dynamic of soundness of mind developed over time is to have a sound mind that thinks like Christ about life on this planet, and is like minded in doing those works our Lord did. A sound mind delights in giving glory to God. A sound mind wants to love and be loved, give and share, have fellowship with others, and praise the Lord!

Summing all this up is best said like this, Christ within, our hope of glory! Now that's good news, isn't it? The spiritual dynamics of our own recreated spirit are quite awesome! After all, the spiritual dynamics of our own recreated spirit are those same spiritual dynamics of our Lord Jesus, as He has given us of His Spirit.

Just one more thing to add..., in reference to Hebrews chapter 12, the subject there is the judgment of God as fire that consumes His adversaries, as that fire that destroyed those having a great time worshiping a golden calf while Moses was on the mount that burned with fire and tempest receiving the 10 commandments.

Those of us of His Love Spirit of Grace are as the burning bush that was not consumed when filled with the presence of the fire of God. But those of us that persist in those works of the flesh Paul described above will be consumed by the fire of God. Darkness is always consumed by light. Let us walk in the light of the spiritual dynamics of our own recreated spirit, because when we see our Lord Jesus Christ, we will be like Him.
