Gentleness!

Hosted by Saint 701 ... This forum is for the purpose of examining the subject of Grace and its great place in God's work in the body of Christ Jesus of which we are a part. "The Book of Romans" was chosen for the title since that book is so rich in Grace to us, but in no way is this forum limited in examining Grace to only the "Book of Romans."

Gentleness!

Hi All,

*AngelYellow*
Blessings!

I began attending a new church last Sunday, one close to my home within walking distance, which was by direction of the Lord for His purpose. Just about an 8th of a mile from the church I walked into the presence of aura of peace flowing out from the church. Such surprised me. Then, as I got a little closer to the church I heard a voice say, "be gentle here." That surprised me even more as the prayer the Lord has laid upon me of late has been for more boldness. Me, gentle?

I am not a novice at exercising my senses to discern good and evil, but I am far from perfected in that art. Now I didn't dismiss the voice or the peace, but after the service I began to have doubts about the source of the voice since have been in the warfare so much the past couple of months, am aware of the wicked ones devices more so and growing in understanding.

But this morning was in prayer before the Lord as didn't have a post for today yet, and the Lord spoke to me about praying for gentleness and making it a post. Such confirmed the voice near the church as that of the angel for that church as the light came on inside and I saw. I realized that angel was responsible for that church and full of eager yearnings for its people and had received permission to speak to me before I arrived. (I don't act out in church anyway). While I pondered what I say, the Lord spoke to me again, and said, "you are in charge of that angel."

SHOCK! He went on to say that just as I directed John on the isle of Patmos to send letters to the various churches, I will lead you in prayer to direct that angel for the building up of that church the way I want it. *Whistle* Talk about amazing grace! Glory to you Lord!

Back to gentleness. The Lord directed me to pray for it so I did. He said if I would pray for gentleness it would "stick to me." And you know what? As soon as I prayed for gentleness I felt it stick to me. Awesome!

So what is gentleness? Galatians 5 tells us that gentleness is a fruit of His Spirit. Before the Holy Spirit spoke to me about praying for gentleness I hadn't given it much thought, as of late the fruit of the Spirit in me has been more on the line of longsuffering, resisting the advances of Satan in the warfare. Whereas last year the focus was on being fruitful in love as the Lord had really touched me with a super supply of it, and such "stuck" to me for a long time. Certainly love hasn't left me, however, as to me
gentleness is certainly an aspect of love in action.

Here is what the online dictionary has to say about gentleness. In gentleness we find tenderness, compassion, kindness, consideration, sympathy, sweetness, softness, mildness, kindliness-as in the gentleness with which she treated her pregnant mother....

The scripture that I love which to me teaches gentleness is Ephesians 4:32. And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

[22] But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
[23] Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

ANYWAY! I am hopeful that being led in the way of gentleness for a while signals something better for all of us of late so afflicted in the warfare, and that my posts in particular will reflect the Lord's will in such. I am, however, in no way taking off Dad's Armor. But I will boldly be gentle!

It is most certainly far better to die in faith believing, than it is to live in unbelief.
