Father, Friend, and Mentor. Awesome word in the Healing Path. FATHER, what an incredible word. I grew up in a blended family with a step father, my childhood was'nt good and the teenage years were even worse. In spite of all this, after getting out of the army, Me and my step father became close. So much that I call Him my father. He died in 1991 and I miss Him as much today, as I did then. Time does not heal all pains it only makes us use to the fact they are gone. EVERYONE needs a father. I truly miss his approval, his encouragement, and his advice. To this day I envy someone when I hear, me and my dad did this, or me and my dad did that. I wish I could hear those words and experience what they have. BUT I CAN. 1John 3:1 See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called the children of God! And that is what we are. I have a Father and He is real and He really wants me to know this and experience it. The reason I don't is because I often fail to realize, Who and what I am, and what I have. I AM A CHILD AND SON OF GOD. This is no theory or concept. THIS IS TRUTH. It does not matter whether I feel like it or what anyone says. It is up to me to BELIEVE (FAITH) WHAT HIS WORD SAYS. It's not based on how good I am or how many good things that I do. I AM HIS SON BECAUSE HE SAYS SO! So many times I feel like a man starving for food outside a building that says FREE FOOD INSIDE, EVERYONE IS WELCOME, but does'nt go in, because he has no money and is not quite sure the sign is correct. Surely no one gives away anything for free. SO HE STAYS OUTSIDE. He starves because of his wrong thoughts (weeds). Thank you HEALING PATH for helping me renew my mind, pull weeds, plant seeds and TAKE HOLD OF THAT FOR WHICH CHRIST JESUS TOOK HOLD OF ME. Phil 3:12 One truth I really know, no matter how long that I have been a christian, I am not immune to being dumb. Pray for God's son to keep his thoughts right, and don't forget (even for a moment) who he is and what he has. GBU
