Step 9 on my Path

Postby Larry77 » Tue Jul 24, 2012 1:30 pm

So I need to fill my empty spaces with good things and good people. Makes me smile thinking how I could use some good friends or heck just 1 friend. Pretty much cut ties with my friends when I got engaged 23 years ago, just the wrong kind of friends that I had for way to long of time. But since being married 22 years and really no friends for me or my wife that we do anything with. We both have family close by which is great, but I know my wife would like a friend or 2, besides having just me around.
Not sure why I wrote all that down about having no friends, but I will work on filling my voids with good things and good people.

Later and may God bless us all as he sees right.

Perhaps you wrote what God was speaking to you. Perhaps He knows the importance of having a few good friends. Pray for them and work at making some. You'll be blessed. :)

Take care

I know what you mean Larry. I too don't really have any friends. There are a few people I call friends but they are really my husbands friends and their wives but they are not people I seek out to hang out with or to call. I only see them if we are invited to a cookout or something but I am one around several others and just join in whatever conversation is going on. There is no one person that I would call on if I was troubled or just wanted to go do something together. My social life consists of going to weight watchers meetings on saturday morning. That sounds kind of pathetic to me since we are just a group of strangers that get together to discuss healthy eating habits but it's all I got. I mostly am pretty content with it I just crave a good friendship sometimes outside of the family but have never found it. It's hard to find someone you can trust who shares your faith.
