Day 4 - What a bump on the path!

Postby Guest » Fri Apr 30, 2010 9:08 pm

This counseling path has been very good and things have been going well. I sincerely appreciate all of the warm encouragement, thoughts, and prayers.

Today (day 4) was a "bump" in the road for me when it comes to forgiveness. I have never considered myself as an unforgiving person as I have had really good teaching on this when I was younger. I was taught that God would not forgive us if we don't forgive others.

I don't have any problem with the idea of forgiveness or with forgiving others. My problem lies in that my family and I were hurt was so very deeply and it was caused by professing Christians.

We will forgive them as it is God's will... It just takes time... it takes time to process your feelings and study God's word. It also takes lots of prayer asking God to help in the healing process.

Lesson #4 was a very good reminder for us...

The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak!

It would make me feel so much better if I could just beat them over the head with a wiffle bat!!! I am sure the Lord would not mind if done in Christian love... I think I read about that in the 2nd chapter of Whompings (found between Galatians and Ephesians)....

rofl whw...2nd whompings huh? rofl

Yes forgiving others...especially when the hurt has run deep is not always easy...but we can take Jesus as our example...what He suffered on the cross...but yet He still cried out Father forgive them they know not what they do....

You know we have a choice of how deeply we allow someone's actions to hurt us...and for some reason we tend to hold Christians to very high standards at times...expecting more...but when the enemy sneaks in and makes them do things unpleasing to God...we often want to say...but you claim to be a Christian...so how dare you do that...but honestly...even Christians fall short of the grace of God...and we have to place them as God sees them...sinners...all of us are sinners in the flesh...only in His Spirit do we become more and more like Him....

I pray that you will soon be able to let go and let God. You need His healing...because He needs you in His ministry...so many souls out there need to hear about God and His love...and just because you hit a rock along the path...doesn't mean stop...it means get back up and get back to God's calling on your life.

Praying for you and your family still.

luv ya

*GroupHug* I would just like to add that i am in agreement with mlg. She is right on target.
Keep praying for those that have hurt you and yours they need forgiveness as much if not more than you. Because they represent God, and it is a very big responibility when we say in the name of Jesus. And any time that we profess to another that we are christian everything we say to the lost or searching we are saying in the name of Jesus. Please learn to forgive these people a lot of them think they are doing the right thing but they are deceived. God help them. And we all make mistakes and as mlg says we have all sinned and fallen short of God glory.
Use your heart of compassion and see that they or the ones that needs the Holy Spirit more than ever. And they don't even know it. so everytime someone is brought to your attention that has hurt you and yours. It's God saying pray for this person.

God bless you

Your sister in Jesus Christ

And unfortunately, so many Christians spend so much time taking care of the church and money that they forget to include God.

Thanks to all for the encouragement and words of wisdom!!

I am starting to feel that we actually CAN move past the hurt and pain and get on with serving God...

It really helps to be on this forum and to get insight and a new perspective from other believers. Many times it is very hard to objectively view ones own situation. That is why God gives us brothers and sisters in the Lord.

I still want to buy a few whiffle bats though... (in the name of Biblical therapy) *BigGrin*

Yes We Can move this mountain. If we have a little faith.

It's a beautiful thing to watch as God moves this mountain of pain out of our lives. *run*

Slowly it budges until it's so far away we barely remember it. Each budge of this mountain IS a miracle. *ohyeah*

All it takes is a little faith that God will answer our prayers.

:)

God bless and keep you whw.
Prayers for you. *Pray*
