Am I misguided?

While worshiping one day, God put in my mind an image. I knew that He wanted me to post about it on Oasis but I put it off, not knowing how to start it, not knowing where to put it.
Last Sunday, this topic was talked about in chat. I did not want to join in at that moment because:
1. I knew I wouldn't be able to keep up
2. I didn't have Scripture handy to back up what I wanted to say.
The vision was of a person, hunched over walking, whipping his back repeating "I'm a sinner, I'm a sinner" over and over.
At chat, someone said to the effect of "Some people believe they are not sinners because of Jesus" Someone else answered to the effect of "Let us pray for those poor, misguided people"
Well, I am one of those who believe and I do not feel misguided.
This is why.
Hebrews 9:15 For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance-now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.
Hebrews 9:27-28 Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people;
Hebrews 10:12-17 But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God. Since that time he waits for his enemies to be made his footstool, because by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.
The Holy Spirit also testifies to us about this.
First he says: "This is the covenant I will make with them after that time, says the Lord. I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds."
Then he adds: "Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more"
1Peter 2:24 He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.
1John 1:6-7 If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.
1John 12:2 Jesus Christ* is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.
So, my way of reading this is that Jesus died to make a new covenant to wipe out our sins, the original sin.
For me to not believe this is to believe that Jesus died in vain.
Now, I'm not saying I don't sin. I'm human after all but I believe that if I repent, I will be forgiven.
1John 1:8-10 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives.
I also know that I try to be the best I can be to show Jesus's grace through me by the Holy Spirit who is guiding me.
1John 2:5-6 But if anyone obeys his word, God's love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him: Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did.
1John 2:26-27 I am writing these things to you about those who are trying to lead you astray. As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit-just as it has taught you, remain in him.
1John 3:2-3 Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. Everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as he is pure.
1John 3:6 No one who lives in him keeps on sinning.
1John 3:9 No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God's seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God.
1John 5:18-19 We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin; the one who was born of God keeps him safe, and the evil one cannot harm him.
Humm... I was born again when I took Jesus into my life as my lord and savior.
1Peter 1:23 For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God.
I wouldn't want to be that person hunched over whipping myself over and over. I want to be the person who spreads God's light in joy!
