Day 8 8/29

Postby splash » Wed Aug 29, 2007 2:02 pm

Steaming mug of coffee in hand, I wandered out to my garden, my mind still meditating on the Psalms I'd just read.

Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.(119:105)

But the way of the wicked is like deep darkness; they do not know what makes them stumble. (4:19)

Blessed are the people who know the joyful sound!
They walk, O LORD, in the light of Your countenance. (89:15)

Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness. (29:1)

The day hadn't gotten off to a great start, since I'd stepped in doggie excrement at 6 am in the dark hallway while waking my son up for school. No amount of cleaning my feet could take away the feeling of filth.
(Note to self: Put nightlight in hallway.. do not walk in darkness)

Wow, finally, two beautiful red roses ... I went back in and got my scissors and brought them out to cut the flowers and added to those a few puffly pink blossoms from the crepe myrtle and some other little white flowers from a bush near the picket fence. A deep-pink sprig of bouganvilla and a few violet mexican daisies completed the little bouquet which i clenched proudly in my fist and... oh nooooo.... my flip flop was glued to the ground with more doggie doo.

OK, I admit that I am strongwilled and a slow learner and i admit that Oasis told me all along to go slowly and not do things out of order; but sure enough here I was gathering blooms before I even had my stepping stones in place.

So off I went to the garden store where I purchased 9 stepping stones .. one for each of the fruits I plan to grow... Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-Control. They were more expensive than I expected, but there's always a sacrifice involved when you want to keep your tootsies clean.
