Re: Stepping stones
Hello Mel
God bless you this day.
Stepping Stone 6
Mel, don't fret over the Miracle Grow chart. It doesn't need to be real long and complicated. Start out small. Maybe, something like: make your bed every day, and while you are doing that talk/pray to Him. Or, each time you do the dishes, remember He is with you, and talk/pray to Him (silently, in your mind). I have found that whatever I'm doing, it goes more smoothly when I talk to Him.
When you are in the car, turn the radio to Christian music.
When you are doing your Stepping Stones, open your Bible and look up the scriptures that are listed in that Stepping Stone as they come up in the Study. I find that opening my own Bible and looking up the scriptures helped me, a lot. It not only helped me in looking up scripture, but it acquainted me with my own Bible. I don't know...it just feels more personal that way.
The "forgive all" and "control thoughts" can be combined, sometimes. I find that many times when my thoughts get out of whack it is because I got offended by someone or a situation. So I talk to The Lord about those things, and He is quick to remind me that He wants me at peace, not stewing over something offensive.
Anyway, these are just some suggestions -- hope they help you some. But, Mel, don't stop doing the Study, ok? You are doing so well with it, so keep at it. I'm praying for you. May God's blessed will be done.
God bless and keep you.
Love,
Mack

Boy I could relate to what you said there! I understand that. I have to remember HE is good even when I am not. HE is Merciful even when I am not. HE is not good BECAUSE I am, but because HE is. And I am grateful because if it were works that would get me into heaven, with all the wrong I have done, I am a sunken ship. Praise God for His Mercy & Grace.

I didn't know that satan puts hardship in our lives so that we might not forgive the other person. That makes alot of sense to me now. We must forgive to be forgiven. I think this way of getting weeds out is my most important step so far. The weed that suicide is an opinion is a big one for me. Or that cutting can make me feel better. My body is the temple of God and I should treat it that way.

Hello Mel (((hugs)))
God bless you this day.
Ohhhhhhhhhh, YEAH!!! I loved this step, too. It gives us an awesome tool(s) to fighting off those negative words or words of confusion that come towards us -- whether from thoughts whispered by the enemy, or from previous negative encounters or from current poison arrows words that others sometimes spew out at us (because they themselves are under attack by the same enemy).
God's Word is always PRESENT and it is always current and righteous. What a wonderful thing it is to have TRUTH at our side. Thank You Jesus \o/ \o/ \o/
Yeah, Mel!!! I'm excited for you.
