Day twelve

Postby Christine_RL » Tue Aug 02, 2011 1:40 am

I just finished reading lesson 12 and it came at a perfect time. After my last journal entry, this lesson is exactly what I needed to hear.

As long as you feel sorry for yourself the devil is winning. When the devil shoots his arrow at you, put up your shield of TRUTH! It’s never too late to begin again.

Continued efforts WILL complete any task set before us!

Every day is a new day ... A fresh start. Every moment is a new moment. No matter what, you aren’t a hopeless cause.

Today I got another excellent quote in my e-mail. It sounds like a good habit to get into.

Before you go to bed, write down three 'gratefuls' for the day and three 'did wells' (they can even include something as simple as doing the laundry)—the results can be amazing!
—Carol Burnett, comedienne

Three "gratefuls"
1) God's grace
2) Having the Christianity Oasis available for me to use
3) My family

Three "did wells"
1) Read lesson 12
2) Wrote journal entry
3) Exercised (walked 2 miles)

Jill,

Thanks for your hug. I need one. This morning I got two more rejections from companies that I submitted my artwork to and I got a rejection from a job that I applied for. It was for a creative/art type of a job and this is what they said in their reply, "We are impressed by your experience as detailed. However, at this time we are going to continue our search." That really boosts my confidence when they say they are continuing their search. They can't at least interview me for the job before they continue their search! If they were impressed with my experience why wouldn't they give me an interview. It's getting harder and harder to have any ambition to do any of my artwork anymore. It just seems like I have nothing to live for anymore and there is no purpose for my life.

Tonight I re-read part of lesson 12 again.

You’re not hopeless. You’re not stupid.

(But you do look a little silly if you lie there in pools of self pity.)

It’s all up to you. God gives you the choice to make decisions. As long as you feel sorry for yourself the devil is winning. When the devil shoots his arrow at you, put up your shield of TRUTH! It’s never too late to begin again.

I need to repeat it over and over again, As long as you feel sorry for yourself the devil is winning. As long as you feel sorry for yourself the devil is winning. As long as you feel sorry for yourself the devil is winning. As long as you feel sorry for yourself the devil is winning. As long as you feel sorry for yourself the devil is winning.

You’re not hopeless. You’re not stupid. You’re not hopeless. You’re not stupid. You’re not hopeless. You’re not stupid.

Hi Christine,

Man, rejection is hard no doubt! It takes a toll on our self.... IF we let it *BigGrin* . Remember , dont take rejection personaly. Learn from the experience, look for the positives to build on in the future. And realise your true worth value. Let it sink in that you are valueable and so is your work. Let this fuel you to keep going.

From God’s frame of reference, remember that the life’s work He has chosen for you – no one is as perfectly endowed as you.

*hug*
