Most know that the Truth tells us we must die to ourselves to become like Christ. I don't know about you guys but I find that challenging to do at times! Someone inspired me to write this but it does apply to many so am sharing it here

When we Were Ourselves

Just yesterday my thoughts they turned
To days not long ago
When my true prize, my gift, my life
Was wrapped in selfish bows.

I wondered on that time of greed
Of air so crimson red
And then my heart began to sit
On words you often said.

For once, I knew, the self you were
Was very much the same
The pleasures of this candy world
Also called your name.

But now there is a different lure
Is that of magic felt
For Spirit laughs and sings a song
That guides us to Himself.

So now we share our Father strong
His love we help to cast
As many Ourselves struggle still
To overcome the past.
