70 TIMES 7...Equals?
Forgiveness is something that if given can set someone so needed, and if withheld, can cause a cycle of pain that just does not end, until one person or another finally relents. Forgiving someone may not always be easy, but by not forgiving those who hurt us most, we allow the memories take on a life of their own. When God dwells among us, in us, in the core of our relationships, it seems as if everything becomes more endurable.
Forgiveness brings freedom and closure to gaping wounds that have been opened for so long, wounds that have needed, have been begging for the chance to just heal. People walk around with gaping wounds, hurting and in pain, and in all that pain they can become embittered and cold. People are just so complex, but yet...simple in so many ways. The greatest ailment that the church faces today is that there are so many among us who are hurting, in pain and how can a wounded soldiers fight? The arms that wrap around each other, finally whispering the words that can set a captive free, is a moment frozen in time. Hurt and pain can do a lot of things to a person. The people who are hurt, those who do the hurting. Maybe in its simplest form, this is a vicious cycle, but there is nothing that can’t be overcome...with Jesus.
Jesus doesn't have a limit to how many times we should forgive someone, and like every one of God's directions and teachings, I see wisdom in God's Word. His commandments are there so that maybe, by heeding God's word, we can be spared some needless pain. His commandments were not meant to condemn us, but to set us free from a cycle of pain and hurt. God, through Jesus can forgive us, but when we treat our neighbors as we would treat ourselves, we being to, pardon the expression, play another tune.
So many families are in pain, and I know that from the experiences that when we forgive someone, even if that person doesn't recognize it, can truly set a person fee. Jesus came so that we could have LIFE MORE ABUNDANTLY. Families are being bombarded today with so many distractions; so many attacks that threaten to rip families apart. I believe with all my being that the blood of Jesus Christ acts as an impenetrable shield, and that with God a family is able to thrive and grow...but without God at the center of a relationship, things can quickly erode away, or maybe with time, but still the challenges are many and we need God wit the very breath we take. Forgiving those who hurt is so important because there may come a time when forgiveness cannot be given, nor asked for.

Isaiah 40:31 but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
