Sassy3's Testimony
The other night Mackenew suggested I post my testimony on this Forum. I told her my testimony is already posted on Purity Publications and my web page, both on the Oasis site. She suggested I pray about it. I did.
I have read most, if not all the testimonies posted here. They come from bad situations to the loving arms of Jesus. There is nothing dramatic in my life to tell about ..no drugs or alcohol addictions; no sexual or physical abuses; no rapes; no divorced parents; no attempted suicides; no mental health issues.
In a communiquee to the Oasis administrator, I related all this to him.
He encouraged me to share my testimony here, reminding me that others suffer health issues and loss of loved ones just as I have. So, following the leadership of the Holy Spirit, I have prepared some thoughts to share with you, hoping someone will find encouragement.
The Lord blessed me with loving parents who reared me in the fellowship of a small Baptist church. I accepted the Lord as my Savior when I was eight years old. I was a normal child who was shy when around people outside our immediate family until I reached my junior high years. Then, I opened up to others. During my teen years, I participated in school and church activities.
As a young adult, I married a young man who was my soul mate and friend until the day he died. The Lord blessed us with three lovely children, all of whom are Christians.
In 2003 I was diagnosed as having stage 3 colon cancer (the cancer that no one wants to mention). Following surgery, chemotherapy and many prayers, I was healed. I do not understand completely why I was one of the fortunate ones, except that the Lord was not through with me here on this earth. Recognizing the fact there are many, (including some of the faithful chatters in the Oasis chat rooms), who have not had complete healing, it humbles me to know I am so blessed with good health.
Loss of loved ones is another trial I have lived through with HIS help. Saying an earthly goodbye to my parents, my only sibling and my husband has taught me to lean heavily on HIS supporting arms. As a child, I wanted to question Why did God take my mother from me?

The task ahead of us is NEVER as great as the Power behind us. Can I hear an amen?

Sassy,
You mean so much to me and your testimony is a blessing. I look up to you as a woman of God. I praise God for the blessings in your life. For protecting you from many dangers and struggles. There are lots of things he's protected me from and I praise him for that also. God is good.
The faith you have in him is awesome. It's an encouragement.
God loves you sassy and so do I!

Sorrow looks back, Worry looks around, But faith looks up! Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly and trust in our Creator who loves us.
