Mother's Prayer & unanswered prayers

Postby Christdaughter » Wed Nov 28, 2007 11:25 am

Six years ago, I received a phone call from my son, who at the time was in the Marines, he was at the E.R. while driving around one night with a friend , my son had a headache so severe he black out, doctors told him he was having cluster headaches, my son then streched and his hand brushed across his collar bone, he found a lump there, he ask doctors, " is this suppose to be here? " my son told me doctors went into what he calls " rush mold " ordering test, probing the lump! Needless to say I packed and went to S. C. to be with my son, after many failed biospys, I called my sons CO, for the meds the civil doctor gave my son was making him ...NUTS!, my son told me he was going into the wilderness with the knife his dad gave him for Christmas to find Jesus! After many phone calls to his CO, he was transferred to a VA hospital in Augusta , Ga.
I had came home through all this and received a call from my son saying they were going to make an incision in the front of his neck to get a biospy, so off I went to Ga. , a dear friend at church prayed and God told her to take me, we drove all night. we arrived just like an hour before surgery, I had to return home, but my son's doctor was so wonderful, a christian man, gave me his pager number, his cell number and his service number, I called the doctor on Monday and was told that this biospy was incomplete, and he had to cut my sons chest open and the surgery was in two days, now after all theses trips to be with my son money was tight, I cried and ask God to make a way, He did, I was on a plane the next day, with my son when he went into surgery. The doctor came out and I saw the look on his face, I would never say the words , like if I didn't say it, all would be well, I was willing the doctor in my mind not to say that word!
The doctor looked at me and said, I'm so sorry but your sons chest is full of tumors, it looks like grapevines , tumors are wrapped around artries to his heart, wrapped around blood vessels, He told me my son would have to have at the least a year to a year and half of treatments, the cancer was so intense, he had stage 3, I went to the chapel and cried out to God, I ask God how did you do it? How did mary do it, give up your only son, God this is my only son! I then ask God to take it out of my son and give it to me, I was ready, I had lived my life, he is young God!
My son later told me, " Mom, that is the stupiest prayer I ever heard, God is not going to do that, all of us need you" I had a room on base, I went into my room, laid face down and cried and cried, until I felt a peace come over me, a joyful peace, I called my husband and his first words were, Honey, fear not, God told me Josh is going to be ok" I was amazed, he & I were several states apart and were praying at the same time. Six months later our son was cancer free, it has been five years this past Sept. God answered my prayer and my husband prayer for a healing in our son, I Praise God everyday for giving me my son's life, lol I praise God for knowing a Mothers heart and NOT answering my prayer while I knelt in that chapel after my sons surgery. God loves my son more than I ever could know and He show me how much He loved me. God blessed my family so many ways, He is my all, my everything.
