My son seems to hate learning to read.
Gives school staff all kinds of guff.
Drives mom crazy when trying to get him to read.

Was shopping at the local Salvation Army store.
He spotted the Christmas village pieces.
He found one he wanted. He bought it.
He asked me if it was Santa's work shop.
Without looking at it I replied, "Looks like it could be."
He said, "Maybe not. I think its a Library."

I looked at it and he was right. The banner over its door was the word, Library.
No books, nothing else to give the impression it might be a library.

I think he knows more than what he lets on.
I had offered the suggestion that maybe he's board with the easy stuff.
But I was dismissed. *dunno*

ahuh... ;)

Trying to teach my son "appropriateness of the moment" is sometimes difficult when he has his mind made up.
(or was it "His" mind?)

Between Praise n Worship songs and the Preaching of the Message we collect tithes and offerings at our local church.
During this time the worship leader plays a "special" song of his choosing as the kids go to the front of the church and
make their offerings in a basket then march off to Sunday School classes.
My son, instead of going off to class, marched up on the "stage" and walked up to the worship leader to talk to him.
I hustled to the front of the church to get my son and redirect him. But our worship leader spoke out and said,
"we're going to change things up a bit today and sing a different song than we had planned, and (Keeper of the Light)
is going to help us, if that is ok?" Well, I'm not about to counter the moving of the Holy Spirit through our worship leader,
so I took a seat in the front row. Inside, I was feeling a bit embarassed, but then they began the song.
Watching my son next to the worship team, with microphone in hand, with feet wide apart, swaying, shifting his
whole body from one leg to the other, and belches out, I can't wait to worship "THE LORD." If I didn't "SING,"
if I didn't "SHOUT," The trees would "CHEER'" and the rocks would "CRY OUT." "I CAN'T WITH TO WORSHIP THE LORD!"

I could think of only one thing, that which momof3 wrote above:
> ....the Lord will make his gifts and strengths apparent to you! <
As those words were continueally running thru my head the congrecation joined in singing, then the worship team.
My heart melted...

I prayed. "Lord, may he carry that song in his heart all the rest of his life."

here is a youtube version of the song he sang:

God is doing amazing things through this child...wow wow wow!

My boyfriend's 2 nephews have autism, and I know their mom has her hands full a lot working with them both...but to see my boyfriend talk about them, shows the love that these children express through their actions.

You are so very blessed Timothy...praise God for giving you little Thian.

luv ya
