Hello Notforgotten
God bless you this day.
Very interesting stuff -- also, kind of unsettling, and kind of creepy. But, Praise The Lord, we have the indwelling of The Holy Spirit to nudge us -- redirecting when the enemy sneaks and creeps about.
A lot of what you shared sounds like some of The Book of Enoch. And, some of what you shared sounds like Ezekiel's descriptions of those spiritual beings (angels) that surround the throne of God. Cool, but again...kind of unsettling, and kind of creepy -- until I'm reminded by the blessed nudge of The Holy Spirit that I belong to The Lord God Almighty. Woooooohooooooo! Thank You Jesus.
A few years back, I found myself getting a little sidetracked in my walk. You see, God made me aware that on occasion I was able to see into the spiritual realm. Nothing huge, mind you, but, enough that WOWZA, my curiosity was really piqued, and even though I was a little nervous, I found myself wanting to see more and more. Perhaps delving too deeply and getting away from The Word of The Lord spoken by Jesus Christ and recorded in The Bible.
The Holy Spirit redirected me, by showing me some scriptures of warning.
Hebrews 2:1-4King James Version (KJV)1 Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.
2 For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;
3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;
4 God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?
Colossians 2:18-19King James Version (KJV)18 Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,
19 And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.
I do not consider it a sin to read The Book of Enoch, or other writings by Christians. But, if it causes me to "slip" (as mentioned in Hebrews 2:1) or causes my mind and heart to think on or dwell on things other than The Word of God, I may find myself dealing with a stronghold. Some of us may be more susceptible than others in that regard, or it may just be a matter of letting our guard down.
II Corinthians 10:4-6King James Version (KJV)4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
6 And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.
Ephesians 6:10-18King James Version (KJV)10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
Notforgotten, I love that God has given you such a passion for seeking the things of God, both in the seen and unseen world. I remind you, just as you would remind me and other Christians...keep your eyes on the prize, Christ Jesus, and be sure to dress out, daily, in the full armour of God.
Thank you for sharing, Notforgotten. Whomever said the Christian life was boring, truly didn't know what they talking about, huh? God is Amazing!!! Thank You Jesus!
God bless and keep you.
In Christ Jesus' love,
Sister Mack
