God our Creator, we come before you this day remembering the birth of Mary. Let us take a moment to give thanks for the many ways that Mary has been a witness to your presence in our lives, for the many ways that she has been a role model for us in her faithfulness to you in her life and for the times that she has given us a sure sign of hope in our own journey in life. May Mary continue to guide and inspire us as we walk this journey in faith. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
A Prayer for Help
Psalm 44
We have heard with our ears, O God,
our ancestors have told us,
what deeds you performed in their days,
in the days of old:
you with your own hand drove out the nations,
but them you planted;
you afflicted the peoples,
but them you set free;
for not by their own sword did they win the land,
nor did their own arm give them victory;
but your right hand, and your arm,
and the light of your countenance,
for you delighted in them.

Through you we push down our foes;
through your name we tread down our assailants.

Awake, do not cast us off forever!
Why do you hide your face?
Why do you forget our affliction and oppression?

Redeem us for the sake of your steadfast love.
Christian Wisdom
When you sing to God, when you praise him, when you worship him, God gives you peace that you can't understand. He pours on you wisdom that you would not have had you not prayed and thanked Him and glorified him.
Angel Wisdom
If someone were to ask me if I had ever seen an angel, I am afraid I could not give a very satisfying answer. But should I be asked if I ever met a messenger of God, then the answer would be an emphatic and unequivocal, "Yes, I have!"
