Your Thoughts Please...
Greetings O Family
We are reaching out to hear from you!
Plans are underway for our upcoming OASIS CHRISTMAS FESTIVITIES. This is a week long celebration of what Christmas truly means, beginning Monday, December 19.
Our awesome regularly scheduled programs are replaced (for this week ONLY) with a special line up of programs meant to reflect and celebrate the Birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Please share any ideas that you may have for programs.
We would like to get ideas from ALL Oasis Family Members, as each ingredient makes His recipe unique. So please share whatever comes to mind for programs, whether you wish to host such yourself or simply share as an idea for another instrument to consider.
Once we have a list of possible ideas, it will be organized and posted for all willing hosts to consider and select time/program theme.
Let us join in Unity for the Glory of our Lord.
Thanks in advance, y'all always have amazing ideas to share! Lookin forward to this time of fellowship and reflection.
Peace n Luv in Christ,
Lani

Re: Your Thoughts Please...
I'm back And I've brought some ideas along:
#1 Walking After the Spirit
A discussion using the following verses from Romans 8:1-4 with emphasis on God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh.
Romans 8
1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
#2 Family Tree
The Genealogy of Jesus and the important Divine things that happened to make Jesus birth possible. (example Jacob taking Esau's birthright..etc.)
#3 Viewing of The Nativity Story
I'm not sure if you can find this on maybe youtube or not, but would be cool to have popcorn and a movie one night and all watch The Nativity Story together.
#4 Entertaining Angels
From what I understand, angels love music, so let's have a music hour or two with youtube Christmas videos, or even those who might want to prepare music to sing through a microphone in chat.
#5 Jesus Birth and You
This would be an interactive discussion about what the birth of Jesus means to everyone in the room, and how His birth has changed the world from what it was in the Old Testament.
Alright, I'm gonna leave some room for others now. Hope that gets you started.
luv ya

mlg where you taking me! And why do you have an ax!
ok all fun aside
A few heavier thoughts....
Suicide rates are at the highest this time of year. Perhaps a chat on how to battle those thoughts. Understanding you're not the only one who struggles with the thoughts, what to do when they come, how to be prepared ahead of time if you know you may struggle with these types of thoughts.
Another perhaps dealing with painful memories that holidays bring. Seeing the family members that hurt you, perhaps will hurt you on that day, the stress of knowing you have to be together again. How to handle the thoughts, the time with them, the aftermath of when it's over.
Love you Lani Love you all.

Sorrow looks back, Worry looks around, But faith looks up! Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly and trust in our Creator who loves us.

Re: Your Thoughts Please...
Hi ladies i'm inching myself back to posting
All GREAT idea's
Pine you are so right and it even reminded me of last years when I spoke of being in the desert, but yes we need to encourage those that are alone and at a low in this life here
Ok yes I had a suggestion
What about some type of program about keeping Christ in CHRISTmas, I hear of this so much but what are we doing as Christians to make sure the whole reason for the season is not pushed aside for marketing or for reasons of not upsetting someone who does not follow our beliefs, it just really bothers me that they want to remove Him from the day that was created by Him being born
PLEASE don't go the wrong way with this I am all for everyone having choice but don't keep widdling away at the whole reason we celabrate this day.
look for ways to show Gods love and refuse to say happy holidays or buy holiday trees, I just think it is time we Christians TACTFULLY put Christ BACK were He belongs but do it in Christ like ways not rude or bad ways
1) buy CHRISTmas items NOT "holiday" items, trees, wrapping paper, cards, one that has been around the longest is the little lots that sell Xmas trees......GET A BIGGER SIGN!
2) when in stores and other places say merry CHRISTmas and when they say happy holidays say I prefer merry CHRISTmas
3) I know this one is harder with kids but do as they did when He was born give HIM the gifts not each other...do things that pleases Him donate your time that day to less fortunate, spend the day with Him....I mean it IS HIS birthday.
I think if enough of us keep Him IN CHRISTmas they will stop trying to take Him out.
Just a thought about how we should stand up for the one it's all about.
even our president is saying we are no longer a CHRISTian nation we are a natoin of many beliefs we ARE a CHRISTian nation that opens our arms to ALL who enter and give the freedom to worship as they please
sorry I will get off the soap box now
Sorry if I offend anyone but I am being offended daily by this.
With love to ALL of His children
Cuc
