Classmate's Daughter

Postby angelbaby » Wed Feb 23, 2011 2:03 pm

My friend Helen just found out her 7 year old daughter has a tumor in her spinal column. This is not the first time her daughter has had a tumor. Half the tumor last time was cancer and half was not. She will have surgery on Friday. The doctors have talked the position of the tumor. She may lose functioning of her legs. Today, she is having second MRI on her brain and spine today.

The surgery went well. The doctors were able to remove all the tumor. However, the tumor has already started growing back. So in a few weeks, they are going to start proton radiation treatment with Angela. The treatments will be everyday M-F for 5-6 weeks. This would be the third time the tumor has regrown. She has also had a bladder infection and a really bad cough.

So, the tumor was cancerous. Thankfully, the doctors got all the tumor. The doctor are radiating the area to ensure that the cancer does not grow back. If it does, the doctors will be unable to operate again due to scar tissue. They would have to do chemotherapy.

Will pray to The Lord that He personally assume full control of her treatment, guiding the medical personnel who are treating the girl.
May He bless her and her loved ones.
