Making "light" or making "LIGHT" of John

Greetings Wonderful Cool Christians! I pray that Jesus is Wonderful in your lives today!

Just connecting some dots below...any comments, thoughts, or conclusions you would like to share? I know you all understand how important the Holy Spirit is to us, and how very little we would know of heaven without Him, how little truth we would have to share with each other. It is through Him that all the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven come. And although I dropped quite a few scriptures below, just wanted to highlight John 16:7 in remembrance of our Lord's work on the cross. If Jesus hadn't gone to the cross we wouldn't have the Holy Spirit in our lives. We wouldn't be children of God, or know the "LIGHT" of "LIFE" either. We would be comfortless, and without Truth. All around us would run amuck because there wouldn't be any force to restrain them. (Remember the flood judgement?) There wouldn't be an greater works to do. We are the body of Jesus on the Earth. We are sons of God. We are born by the Spirit of God whereby we cry "abba" Father. As Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are God, so are we. Who would we be without the Holy Spirit? All mankind would have perished long ago.

Several years ago I attempted to open a dialogue on John 16:7 with a minister not to keen on the Holy Ghost. He said, "oh yah, that scripture makes a great sermon." That is making "light" of our greatest earthly blessing, our Lord now in us through the Person and Work of the Holy Spirit, who is also our loving Dad through whom we love each other.

John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

17Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

John 14:26 "But the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.

John 16:7 from bible.cc KJV Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send him to you.

8And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

9Of sin, because they believe not on me;

10Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;

11Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

12I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.

13Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

14He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

15All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

I John 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

Phillipians 2:5  Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Hello Saint701 *hug*

God bless you this day.

Yea, it gives me chill bumps too -- Woooooohoooooo!!!

John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

Abode = Dwelling *run*

I Corinthians 6:17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

Woooooohooooooo!!!

I Corinthians 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

Thank You Lord.

Saint701, thank you for sharing The Word with us.

There are a couple blessed studies here on this site about The Holy Spirit -- please find the links below. I was truly blessed in reading them, and I pray they'll be a blessing to you as well.

This one is a 7-Day Study about The Spirit of Truth -- The Comforter -- The Holy Spirit:

This one is also blessed, yet is a shorter read: Temple of The Holy Spirit:

God bless and keep you, brother Saint.

An Insight..

Postby saint701 » Tue Jan 12, 2010 2:30 pm

Hi Mack, All,
*AngelYellow*
Blessings!

I love you all so very, very much!

Thanks Mac, I actually read one of those studies off my phone when I couldn't get to a computer. Wonderful!

Well, just some insights here on that we are the Holy Spirit thing. When you get into that good ol' Gospel of John and that High Priestly prayer thing in chapter 17, there is something there, (lots of course), that is very interesting.

20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;

21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:

23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

24 Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.

There is the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Notice that the person of the Holy Spirit is absorbed and embodied in us.
