RADICAL FAITH!

Postby Lionhearted » Fri Jan 08, 2010 9:55 am

Good Morning!! *angelbounce*

For we walk by faith, not by sight or appearance. (2 corin 5:7) God's Word says to live by believing (in the truth) and not by seeing (what your senses and emotions read); we are to live TRUSTING truth; not REACT to life by how it looks (feels)

The Bible is full of radicals!! But who was the greatest of all the radicals? Who was the most extreme? Who was the LEADER OF THE PACK.

The greatest non-seeing, faith walker ever; the king of ROCKING THE BOAT; the MAN who intersected horizontal and vertical living in THEEEE most radical way J E S U S !!

In the dictionary there are 4 different definitions of RADICAL, and it is interesting to note that Jesus fits everyone of them:

1) marked by a considerable departure from the usual or traditional.
2) tending to make extreme changes in existing views, habits, conditions, or institutions.
3) relating to a political group associated with views, practices, and policies of extreme change.
4) advocating extreme measures to retain or restore a political state of affairs.

1. (radical beginnings..) - You see this both through the prophecies of Jesus and all of His beginnings
-he wasn't conceived in the normal way (apparently Jesus was destined to be a radical, even from his conception) and what KING is born in barn?
-he wasn't formally educated; but he overwhelmed the teachers in the temple with his understanding of scripture.
-wanting John to baptize HIM, not the other way around.

2. (how people viewed God - He wanted their view of God to radically change) - You see this whenever he was attacked by the Pharisees, Sadducees, and Scribes (the church of the day).

-started a grass roots

Cool post lion.

I want to add something in a different way. Jesus came to radically change the way people praised and worshiped God. Their ways became mechanical.

Isaiah 29:13
The Lord says:
"These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is made up only of rules taught by men..."

Isn't it amazing how Jesus changed the way people thought, prayed and only 150 years later, man made rules to block that so we are stuck in the same situation again with so many following rules made by man and not knowing any better. Not knowing the true love of God.

And when you become radical to try to break open the boxes people have put the Lord into, you are looked upon like a freak that is in a cult. *BigGrin*

you know what? ... you are exactly right ... major, major RADICAL changes for the praise and worship of HIM ...

and yes ... a mere 150 years later, back to bondage again ... *Doh*

as an aside, darrell found us a church in saskatchewan and he said that there were these guys that almost had a "mosh pit" going with on during the worship service; of course you think "youth" right, i said, "yeah, its nice to see the youth worshipping God so openly" ... he laughed and said, "they WEREN'T the youth ... they were our age" ... wowzas ....i said ...

wooooot .. right on!!!
