Hi
I am again reading through the Psalms. I always find comfort in them especially when I am hurting either emotionally, physically or both.
Today this is the passage that touched my heart:

"For thy righteousness O God, reaches to the heavens, Thou who hast done great things; O God, who is like Thee?
Thou who hast shown me many troubles and distresses, Wilt revive me again, And wilt bring me up again from the depths of the earth."
(Psalms 71:19-20 NAS)

I like how in these two verses David says "again" twice.
Once saying " again" God will revive him and "again" God will bring him up from the depths of the earth.
The depths of the earth means to me how depression hits you, then you stop seeking the Lord out in prayer and Bible study, then depression gets worse and you want to give up. It's definitely like being in the depths of the earth. No way out. But thank God we have the confidence that He never leaves us in that pit.
One of my favorite verses in Psalms is Psalms 37:23&24
"The steps of a man are established by the Lord; And He delights in his way. when he falls, he shall not be hurled headlong; Because the Lord is the One who holds his hand."
Even in the dark depths of the earth and all it contains; He has a hold of our hand. He will set us on a rock (Psalms 27:5b) And we know that Rock is Our Lord Jesus Christ.
For when we cry out for help our relationship with Christ is strengthened as we turn our troubles over to Him and allow Him to work His will in our lives.
*help*
I praise God that even though I am facing cancer and all the scary thoughts about it, God has a hold of my hand and won't let go.
Love You All
