God's promise to the poor and Needy
After studying Isaiah 41 last night i want to share a few Truths to you.
The Lord declares the relation in which He stands with His people and then He proceeds to encourage His people in trials and difficulty by an assurance Of His presence to strengthen and support them. The Lord's people are in themselves feeble; but in the power of God we shall triumph over our
enemies.
We shall rejoice in the Lord. Who are meant by the poor and needy? Not those who are poor in a temporal sense' but a Spiritual sense.
The life of a christian
may\ be compared to a waste and barren wilderness leading from this world to that which is to come.
In the journey, we the Lord's people often feel themselves to be poor and needy without the cheering presence of our God.
The Lord's believing people maybe represented as poor and needy when we are anxious desirous of larger measures of grace and knowledge, increasing holiness and spirituality' more complete superiority to the world with the affections and lust of the flesh, and a growing to the precepts of of the Gospel.
Here is the difference between nominal and Real Christianity, between the religion of outward appearance, and the religion of power and inward and inward experience; between dead and living faith. It is impossible to stand still in religion.
