Scriptures on Forgiveness

Postby saint701 » Wed Jun 30, 2010 8:16 pm

Hello All,

*AngelYellow*
Blessings!

Who would like to feed on a little forgiveness? So..., how many scriptures are there on forgiveness in the Bible? And..., what are they? Post one or post them all...add an explanatory note if you need to.

Hello Prayerful, All,

Awesome reply Prayerful! God bless you in His much love for taking the time to do the search. You ministered to me greatly!

One forgiveness reference that is often overlook by our generation, but was often brought before the Lord in earlier generations, is found in Isaiah 43.

Isaiah 43:

[25] I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.
[26] Put me in remembrance: let us plead together: declare thou, that thou mayest be justified.

So what we do is put our Heavenly Dad in remembrance of His Word, verse 25.

Here are some more scriptures that help our faith.

Acts.5

1. [31] Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.

Acts.13

1. [38] Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:

Acts.26

1. [18] To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

Eph.1

1. [7] In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

Col.1

1. [14] In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
