A Struggling Christian
Hello everyone. I am going to be honest with myself and request help everywhere I can receive it. I am a college student who has sexually sin. Although I haven't had sex, I lust after my ex-bf, I've masturbated and watch sex videos to ease the sexual tension. I've prayed many times. Some days are good and other days I fall short of God's glory. I honestly don't know what to do to completely stop this sin. I hate it with a passion, yet I continue to do the sin. If I could I would take out my eyes and cut my hands off like the bible metaphorically advised, if that would keep me from sinning. I just don't want to become even more separated from God. I am usually a strong person, but my spirit seems like it is slowly dying because of the sexually sins. It usually occurs when I am alone and have nothing to do or if someone touches or sexually converse with me. As a virgin, it is very hard to abstain from thinking and trying sex. Sex is a gift from God that I truly admire and appreciate, but if I keep sinning sexually, I will not see heaven. I really want to change because this is the main thing holding be back from the Lord. I feel disgusted and ashamed. I have disappointed God.Please give me sensible advice that works. Thanks and God Bless you all. Love a struggling Christian girl

Re: A Struggling Christian
You are saved. You aren't going to hell because you sin. We all sin and come short of the glory of God.
The more you try not to, the more it imprisons you.
The videos are nasty. Porn is nasty. I suggest you get it out of your place.
The guilt makes the sex more exciting - get rid of the videos and drop the guilt.
God wants you and your love and attention. If you just go do it and leave it and get back to God, then you have departed from his presence for a few minutes. If you guilt over it - then you may never get back into the presence of God. Satan knows this and tries to keep your sins forever in your thoughts.
We all sin. When you sin - anything - yes even for the seventieth time seven in one day - ask God for forgiveness and get back into his presence.
Guilt is good for maybe 2 minutes. You need to realize when you do something wrong. After that 2 minutes guilt is absolutely the devil's tool.
If you weren't a sinner - Jesus wouldn't have needed to die for you. We all sin. Really. Over and over.
So, make it small and don't dwell on it. Don't try not to do it. If you are thinking about it constantly, that is worse than just doing it. Jesus said lusting was a sin. So, just do it quickly with no porn and ask for forgiveness and move on. Don't let Satan imprison your thoughts in any way. Get out of the thought prison.
You will probably, almost for sure, find that if you give yourself permission to do it when the thoughts get to be too much, that you will be doing it a lot less than when you try not to do it.
God bless you. You are saved if you accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Really. Jesus died for our sins. For our sins. Don't forget the cross.

the methephor Jesus expounded on, is not only about ones hand or eye, but if fallen to deep into it (ie. sin) also ones member, which in this case is the female member sin is refering too, could be in danger of losing sensibility for example.
There is a time and season for all things under the sun, in which case also for sin,.. not that we should remain in it, but in most cases it is vital for a reason of decernment or understanding of some sort of spiritual thing till the Good Lord takes away the urge to continue in it,.. revelation says it that let him who is unclean remain unclean; so dont struggle to hard against it but use it in the sense it was expressed upon,.. the spiritual man is judged by no one till you realize that all this sinning is a craving of a companionship or a spouse for the most part when not most often.
therefor did he say it is better to marry then to burn with passion.
I stress again not to worry to much about it, and keep away from God,.. but through all this realize what it means to be away from him, and how it harms oneself rather then God... To him it is a little thing but to us it is being away from the source of life,.. not saying he didnt pay a heavy price, but rather that he did so with the consideration of your sin; so dont sin above it,.. there comes a time when your good without it, and the urges stop; until then i would say, get more spiritual,.. lessen the affects of porn and the lusting but keep in mind that there is also a healthy part of it which is for your spouse the one of marriage towards you.... pray to God about it,.. and dont let your cause while sinning keep you away from it, rather know he understands all things and is at every place at every time..
remember this when you (think you) needed it : Submitt to God, resiste the devil (slanderer) and he will flee.
...
By cutting if off (hand, eye, etc.)he means losing the function of that member of the body, like the tongue its taste(buds) for example or the hand its grip or touch.
Although, nothing is a given, to some it works for the better, while for others it won't, depending of the faith &and ones vow i suppose. so do not foreswear, but in all things say, IF the Lord so willeth... then this and that i shall do; and whatsoever you shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, so fret not for who knows what there will be tomorrow, but with prayer and supplications; give thanks unto the Lord.
...give thanks unto God

Re: A Struggling Christian
Unfortunately I am now seeing this, but I want to thank you guys so much for your advice. May God truly bless you all. I have been getting better with my sexual desires. I've been praying about it and reading the word. All though I have not cleared this sin completely, I will trust in God and don't allow the devil to trick me into thinking I wouldn't be forgiven.I love God with all my heart and I really want to make him happy when he reviews over my life on that special day. I believe God judges the heart and my heart is truly in the right place. I just need to kill the flesh and resurrect my spirit in Christ. I almost cried reading both of you guys post, because this has been a struggle for me and continues to be a struggle, but I will overcome. I want you all to pray for my current bf as he doesn't fully know the way of the Lord as he should. Although he believes in Christ and wants to live right, I pray for him... Thanks once again.
