Day 8 of my MCFC study
This study was interesting. Spiritual gifts are given as we need them. The ability to know your gifts from your talents is very important also. You know I play the piano, but this is not a gift, it is a talent. I am not one of those who can hear something and sit down and play it. I must have music to read and play. I took lessons for 13 years, so yes I can play well, but it is learned, not just a gift given to me.
Now as for gifts, I have a huge gift of compassion. This I feel must be one of my greatest gifts. I encounter hundreds of people a day and each person I see is a joy and a pleasure. I also have a gift of adaption. Now I know this one is not expressly stated in the Bible, but I don't think all gifts are stated in the Bible, as He gives them as they are needed. I work in a country club, with the wealthy, older crowd, and can blend well with this society. I get along well with the old people at my church. I am young, so I get along well with the younger crowd. I have been in the slums on the streets were drugs are being dealed and prostitution is rampant. I can still go there today to this area, and I'm not scared of the people, as most would be, and I'm not afraid to talk with them. I know this sounds weird, but I love all people and I will go and talk about God with anyone whether I'm at the Opera, or down on the streets with the drug dealer or the cocaine addict. I'm not scared to share his Word, as I know the Holy Spirit is with me, giving me the words to say.
Now there was a section about dreams, I dream for the last year or so. I have never really been a dreamer before and 95% of the dreams are related to serving God. It's amazing, and I haven't really explored this much, as I can say, I'm just a little bit scared. This is something I need to work on opening up to, is to be able to accept the dreams and what I'm being told in them. Like I say they all relate to serving HIM in some type of work, and being new to having dreams I'm a little timid. I don't have a lot of dreams either, maybe one every month or every other month, but He is revealing things to me in each one.
Off to step 9 tomorrow
