Day 6 of MCFC Two by Two
I had always just prayed to God. Until this step, I hadn't known we should pray to Jesus and the Holy Spirit too. This is so cool. And yes, I do sometimes have trouble putting my thoughts into words when I pray.
Regarding praying in restaurants. When I go out to eat with a friend from church, we always say a prayer before eating. I'm aware that it makes us look like we're doing it for attention, but in reality, we are not. I personally feel blessed when we do that.
Regarding chatroom prayers. I have chat friends who say they pray for me at home, which is greatly appreciated. I know what the step says about praying in the chatroom. What if you're having a private chat with someone, and you ask him/her to pray for you while you're chatting? Is that the same thing, if he/she posts the prayer in the private chat? I have asked people to do that, which they have, but this has me curious.

Well love, praying is to be between you and God. I believe it's ok to share in a prayer with another. Just as when you are in church, and pray as a whole. I believe prayer is a form of worship as well as a way of talking to the Lord. Now, if you are in a private message, just between you and another lifting up one another, this is sometimes needed, especially if you are in a weakened state. But praying in an open chatroom for attention and trying to one up someone, isn't truly seeking the LORD, but seeking attention from all others who are present. God knows your intent and your heart. Let Him be the One you please.
