day 4

Today hit close to home for me as we studied about peer pressure and the evil whispers of the world. I see looking back to some of the different chapters in my life how I would allow sin to come in to my life in the most subtle of ways. There were often times when I would allow myself to compromise to please someone else and all the time going against my grain. This would build resentment, and also shame and guilt inside of me. This would open the door to old behaviors of trying to self sooth or self medicate with alcohol. But there was never any resolve in this, the vicious cycle was self destructive. Hurting others around me as well.
So I have to be very mindful about the truths of my past behavior, and resisting any temptations as they surely do present there selves. Staying in right relationship with the Lord, and family, and friends, and being careful not to compromise my values just to please another.
