Making it Simple

Ultimately, God is God and we aren't. We can choose to walk with him, or not. If we walk with him - he chooses. We can take back his right to choose as often as we want - but then we aren't walking with him.
God has infinite love and infinite forgiveness.
But God IS God and we aren't.
Trying to understand can be good and noble, or it can be a total pitfall. People of the middle ages were much more able to understand sovereignty - total power. God has total power. We don't. We cannot determine our today or our tomorrow. We can try. But ultimately - God is God and we aren't.
If we want God to take care of our lives, we have to let him. And letting him is hard. When we take back this thing or that thing, we have reduced or eliminated his ability to help us.
God isn't wanting us to live like Kings. Or like rich people. Or in comfortable complacency.
God wants us to grow. His goals and our goals are not the same.
We can walk with him or without him. We don't get to demand to know why first. It doesn't work that way. If we walk with him, we walk with him. He calls the shots.
This leads to a difficulty - because some of us would gladly walk with him if he would always call every shot and occasionally tell us why. But much of the time we can do what we want within the boundaries of his word and just be willing to move or do what he wants us to do when he tells us to. And for some of us - this lack of direction is harder than the crazy times.
But that is making it more complicated - keeping it simple:
God is God. He can do things any way he wants. We choose to be a part of his way or not. But it is HIS way, not ours. And we do it that way or he lets us do our own thing without him. Over and over again.
