The Practical Application of Christian Warfare Tactics Pt.2
Hello Christianity Oasis, All,
Blessings!
Evil anything is evil everything. That is what we established in the first article in this series. If we open the door to evil thoughts we trap ourselves into doing evil. Evil anything leads to evil everything. Our practical solution for such thoughts requires us to learn 2 things. First, we must learn what evil thoughts are. And second, we must refuse to entertain them. In so doing we will learn a little of what it means to overcome evil with good. Our reward for resisting such things then comes to us in the form of peace of mind and heart. Whereas if we act on an evil thought our heart and mind will be thrown into turmoil. We learn as we go that the more we resist evil thoughts the more we become an over comer of evil. Side 1 of Christian Warfare requires us to resist thoughts that come into our minds that if acted upon produce negative results. We discussed such in part 1 of this series. Side 2 of Practical Christian Warfare involves a full frontal assault of the enemy where he challenges our salvation.
I'm not going to sugar coat what it is like to battle a devil that has been sent to rob us of our faith. The experience is dreadful. I say dreadful because unlike devils and demons that have been wreaking havoc on the earth for thousands of years we have one short lifetime in which to learn how to do battle with them. And if we become engaged in such a battle, the type 2 kind where the devil is attempting to rob us of our salvation, it isn't like we have practical experience to draw from the first time it happens. But God has given us the means by which we may become victorious in every battle with the wicked one if we will but apply it. In this article I will teach you how to use your faith to over come the wicked one no matter how vicious the assault is.
No sugar here...in the Old Testament, in the Book of Numbers, in chapters 13 and 14, we are given our first lesson in spiritual accountability. Of thousands only 2 stalwart individuals showed themselves willing to fight the good fight of faith. Most of you are familiar with Joshua and Caleb and how they gave a good report of faith to Moses after spying out the land of Canaan. Even though there were giants in the land and the various peoples had high walled villages Joshua and Caleb believed God would deliver the inhabitants into their hands. It didn't matter to them how fierce the inhabitants were, they stated that they were well able to take possession of that territory. If we desire to be victorious in a battle with the wicked one we must adopt the mindset of Joshua and Caleb. We are well able to take it!
In the New Testament, in Luke chapter 22, in verses 31 and 32, we find our Lord confronting Peter with a terrifying revelation.
Luke 22
[31] And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:
[32] But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.
Satan wanted to sift him like wheat. As the sons of God such is what we may be confronted with. There are giant spiritual beings in the land and when we least expect to encounter one that is where the enemy will meet us head on. Through a myriad of temptations, trials, and testings, through tribulations of every sort, through betrayals and back stabbings, through sickness and disease, and even trials by fire, Satan comes at us to rob us of our faith. What we can take comfort in during such a time is that our Lord has prayed that our faith not fail. We take comfort in knowing that is the case and understand that it is by and through our faith we triumph over the wicked one. Faith is the great equalizing power God has given us to compensate for our lack of experience in the trenches of Christian Warfare. But just what kind of faith must we have to overcome the wicked one? We must have strong faith in the Word of God.
1John.2
I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.
Know your enemy. There is nothing righteous about him. First and foremost the devil is a liar and the father of lies. A lie is the devil's calling card. You have sin he will say. Then he will make you feel wretched in an attempt to get you to agree with him. He does so to steal your faith, kill your soul, and in so doing destroy your life in Christ Jesus. But ask yourself this. Why do you feel wretched if the being convicting you of sin's entire existence is dedicated to sin? The devil is a lying, stealing, killing and destroying sin filled sinful thing!!! Why have respect to him? Shall he that is sin rule over he that is righteous? Absolutely not!!!
Call the devil out for what he is! Then tell him who you are in Christ Jesus! The devil shrinks back into the darkness when you smack his head with the truth about who he is and who God has made you in Christ Jesus! God hasn't given you a spirit of fear but of power, love, and a sound mind! Defeat the devil by rejecting your feelings of sin and replacing them with the strong faith feelings God gives us when we declare who God has made you in Christ Jesus. When you stand on the good ground of who God has made you in Christ Jesus ill feelings disappear.
I am not a sinner! I am a saint! I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus! God has not given me a spirit of fear but of power, love, and a sound mind. I have power from God! I have love from God! I have a sound mind from God! God lives in me! God is great in me! I am mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds! I resist you Satan in the name, the life, and the living blood of the Lord of glory who lives in me!
You overcome Satan by using those word's God has given you declaring who God has made you in Him. Exercise your authority over the sin filled sinful thing! Turn the tables on him! Jesus said it this way. Who convinces me of sin? Paul said it this way. All things are lawful for me. John said it this way. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.

It is most certainly far better to die in faith believing, than it is to live in unbelief.

1John.3
[8] He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
I'm happy that you found the posts beneficial mlg. Christian warfare with the devil is a part of our high calling in Christ Jesus. He payed the price for our sins that we through His righteousness might continue His work, that is, the destruction of the works of the devil.
