how to suffer better

Postby Guest » Mon Nov 01, 2010 4:56 pm

Hi all,I,m dennis, new here to this site,so first off hello to all,may God bless you and keep you,may his light shine upon you and give you peace.
I,m trying to figure out in my heart and my life how to live with a sickness I have,to not let it drag me down, emotionally, spiritually,as it has been doing to me alot.I suffer from a condition called tinnitus,a high pitched ringing sound in my ears-brain.I have had this for years ,but in the past few it has gotten much worse, blaring and all consuming at times. My life has never been exactly a cake walk to begin with, and emotionally,I,ve never been very strong, but now I have to live with this.A sickness few understand, even medical professionals are yet to truly know what it is all about. There are alot of people who have it,in different degrees, but mine has become very chronic.Lately it has been affecting my faith, trying to understand where God is in all this, and what possible good could there be in it all.I love Jesus as he has rescued me from such a life of sin,and I want to do my best to live a life that could honor him,but I,m failing,I,m sad, discouraged, depressed, and very unhappy about life in general.
I know alot of people suffer in different ways, and truly no suffering in anyway is small,as what cross you carry I would probably fall under, and vise-versa.I just thought perhaps I could learn from some here,,how they are able to do it.Perhaps we could even work together to help others somehow....for now dennisp

Hello Dennis :)

God bless you this day.

Welcome to Christianity Oasis. I'm looking forward to getting to know you, another child of God.

I'm sorry to hear about the tinnitus, and will be lifting up prayers to our Lord, on your behalf. God's blessed will be done.

I find with any physical ailment that it is best for me to keep my mind and heart focused on the Lord, and to continue to reach out to others. There are so many blessed opportunities for us to do that here, to reach out to one another, and to keep praise of our Lord forever on our lips, and fingertips (when typing to another). :)

Have you read any of the blessed Studies on this site? Here is a link to the list of Studies -- all Holy Spirit inspired, leaning heavily on The Word of God. http://www.christianityoasis.com/Keywor ... tudies.htm

Also, be sure to check out the Chat events and Studies too. Here is a link to the Chat Calendar. Please note that all times posted are Eastern Standard Time: http://www.christianityoasis.com/keyword/calendar.htm

Hope to see you around the site, often.

God bless and keep you, Dennis.
In Christ Jesus' love,
Sister Mack

Hello Dennis

Glad to have you aboard , and am absolutely grateful that you mentioned tinnitus , cause , well , I am not going to use the word "suffer" , but I have and still do live with it . Although in my case , as you mentioned , it varies in pitch or loudness , but nevertheless it is annoying and , sometimes , when we "let it" gets on the nerves , and next thing we know we lashing out at others without even knowing why .

Now that I qualified myself as one who can relate :) , Hey don't look at me for answers ok ? :) It is , and I have come to convince myself as a situation we have that our Lord had us to "deal" , well , live with , sometimes I think only He knows the reason why , my job is to accept and obey , but until I realized that and accepted it , I could not think clearly as far as finding answers was concerned . But ... Afterwards , having found out and recognized the pattern of repetition , like , it "got" worse after an abrupt stop from lengthy exposure to loud surroundings , i.e. Music , machinery , open car window and such .

Cliche-ish as it may sound , in anticipation of the barrage I prepare my focus ahead of time , Like making sure there's equivalent pitch to balance it with and lower it gradually ... Like the Voice Of Our Shepherd Lord , Jesus The Christ .

Please do look up the studies our sister Mack posted , and come back and let us know how it went , in addition , you may want to check out the 14 day CCCC prog Oasis has to offer , it'll do you a world of good you may not want to miss out on , I know I wouldn't want to .

Luv ya brother
In Christ , our lord

Hello dennisp, welcome to the Oasis. We are glad to have you here with us. Dennisp, as I read your post...I couldn't help but think....there is something here that God can have glory in...the fact that you have an illness...is not where He will glory...but in how you learn to Live with it as vahn said. If others who know you, and know what you go through...and that you are leaning on God to get through each day and each hour...and that you are not going to let it tear you down....because one day in Heaven after you endure the pain and trials as a good soldier...you will be rewarded with a new body. And all the pain will go away forever.

It's good that you are beginning to reach for God....grab hold of Him...and never let Him go.

Praying for you.

Take care and God Bless
Do you know my Jesus? Do you know my friend? Have you heard He loves you? If not, I'd like to introduce you.

And Mig you are right there will be freedom for sure beyond the vail of this life. You are all very kind and I appreciate it.I have found things getting better not because the tinnitus is better but because Jesus has been lifting me above it.Also I have found a group online of T sufferers like me..God love and keep you all. sincerely dennis

hello dennis :)

glad to see u are led here. just like others saying up there.. i have learned to live with the physical ailment as well. some days are good and some days are pretty intense..depends on the circumstances. i know what its feel like being dragged down during those days. since i had problem with my back for quite long..had to battle with the emotional and mentally thingy as well.. but after i read a spiritual book and how did they overcome the challenges to keep going and also doing the cccc study here..i started to see it in a different perspective..i have no longer question of why i have this ailment. i accepted that God has special plan for me..because He made me special. keep your eyes on God.. sometimes we cud focus when the going gets tough.. that s when the time we need others to help us and to guide us back.. and that s why we have a wonderful brothers and sisters here.. keep on sharing.. sometimes without we realizing..our post may uplifting some other out there..and we wud become one of His vessel to bring the light to them.
walk the Faith..

walk the Love..
