step two

this is step two of 14. i am simultaneously taking two courses but i am most excited. i am finding that i need the support of christian believers and i really have no close relationships beyond that of my unsaved husband. he is VERY combative when it comes to anything spiritual and we argue over it. not that i'm trying to force him to change, but that he doesn't want me to change either.
i love the LORD and i want to be the woman of purpose that HE would have me to be so i am on this journey and i am praying he will put around me like minded believers who will help me on this path to holiness.
good day!!

HI huelsingbroad
So glad to have you aboard here. So glad to hear tha you want to be the woman of purpose. Our Heavenly Father will guide you and give you the desires of your heart.
My thoughts about your husband are to silently lift him up and prayer and sit back and let him see the changes in you. Don't tell him anything that is going on as you do the studies. Let him see the difference that God is going to make in your life. Just love him as you know the Father loves you. Let him see God's love through you.
Keep prressing in sister. Once again so glad to have you aboard.

It is difficult when unequally yoked. But God can work this out. :)
Continue to pray and watch as the Lord leads your spouse. Be patient with him as the Lord is very patient while he calls His son closer to Him.

Glad to see you doing the steps and seeking the Lord. I am certain you and the good Lord will have a wonderful time together as you soak in His words.

God bless and keep you.
Saying a prayer for you and yours.

hello sister huel *hug*

Welcome to Christianity Oasis :) so wonderful to have u here, and to see you on this path. It is truly a rewarding journey.

he is VERY combative when it comes to anything spiritual and we argue over it. not that i'm trying to force him to change, but that he doesn't want me to change either.

very difficult situation to be in i imagine. Could very well be that your husband is fearful of 'losing' you to God. Remember that he doesnt have the same understanding of the spiritual things that you have now, and be patient with him, continuing to show him love and affection as God would want you to.

I agree with Tam... continue to seek God in prayer and study, knowing that He is the only one who can change hearts and remove the scales from our eyes. He IS able :) So be hopeful in your heart, both for yourself and your hubby.

Im glad you are here sis *hug* I look fwd to getting to meet u in the chat soon :)

Love and blessings to you

I know what you are going through because I have the same thing happening with my husband although we don't argue... I never let it come to that. I give in, being the meek and submissive wife so he does not feel threatened.

Like Tam said, I let him see the difference in me without trying to change him. I am seeing a difference in him but it is taking time.

I read my Bible and books, I listen to my worship music and don't get as many funny looks as I used to. He is even starting to sing along to some of the songs.

He still goes to his church, I go to mine.
He was not happy when I had the Pastor and his wife come to help us move furniture and dinner... he moved the heavy couch himself to show me... That was too much of a push for him although he did go to church with me on Christmas Eve and enjoyed it and has met the Pastor before. But that was me trying to push him.

Slow and steady.

huelsing, one day I cried out to God to give me Christian friends. I went to a conference and found a friend who introduced me to another friend at another conference. I have made friends through church. And I have made friends through here!
We are so glad you found us!

Welcome to the Oasis huelsingbroad. It's awesome to have you here with us.

You are now on your way to growing in your relationship with God. As you grow, God will begin to find ways to work through you to reach your husband, whether it be an action, a hug, a kind word, or just His presence in you. Right now take this time to grow with God...make God first in your life...then God will be able to work on your hubby...But first things first...your relationship with God being first.

My prayers are with you. May you enjoy the journey you are on....and I am thankful you are allowing us to walk with you. Jesus is smiling on you.

Come visit us in the chatroom sometime. Again we are glad to have you here.

Take care and God Bless

Hello to you, huelsingbroad!

Welcome to Oasis! So glad the Lord led you here. I cant add much more to whats already been said here..but i can tell ya this...my children were once lost..as we all were. Through choosing to live the way the Lord wanted me to live, He reached my kids...through seeds planted, words spoken, a God bless you, a soft word spoken, some leading from the Holy Spirit to reach out to someone else in kindness.....the people around us see all of this and seeds are planted. God increases those seeds. Just keep watering and praying and seeking His will for you and let Him work in your hubby. im reminded of the passages in Peter about the unsaved husband being reached through his wife's service and life-style to the Lord. keep on keeping on, sister. He isnt finished here yet.

again, so glad you are here. You will make many many friends here.

in Jesus,
love momo *Halo*

thanks
