Letting Go Of My Ex Friend

Postby Danacovertiscool » Fri May 08, 2015 8:59 pm

I know I've mentioned my ex friend soooooooooooooo much that those who know the story, are sick of it. For those who know it, I've asked Ryan why he talks about Michael and he said,"cause we're friends, and I like him." I'm not going to tell him he can't talk about him anymore. The question is this: how do I myself let go of this and just not focus on Michael when Ryan does talk about him? I don't want to say mean things about Michael. I want Ryan to know I support him talking about Michael. Anyway, I'm ready for your advice.

Hi, I don't know your story, but my advice would be when your friend brings up your ex-friend, take a deep breath and ask God to speak on your behalf. He knows your heart and HE will be your key to healing. Pray pray pray even if you don't see results or you don't feel like it's working. It is! God hears and sees all. He wants you to let go of whatever hurts you have. He wants you show off His light for His purpose. I hope that helps some.

Did you hit the reply button? And then send it to me. I'll post a quick synopsis of it:

I had this friend who was bossy to me. His name is Michael. He's blind. He lives at home. He always wanted me to look things up on the Internet for him on my iPod touch. And he talked about tragedies ALL the time. I wrote him a letter about another ex friend of mine, and in part it said,"I don't know if you're lying about the JJ issue or not" and that made Michael's mom block my phone number before I could call him to end the friendship myself. So, I had a friend Ryan who is also blind be the middle man and tell Michael from me that I don't want him talking about me. But now I'm letting Michael grieve over our friendship. That means I'm letting him take all the time he needs to let me go out of his life.

I'm trying to let him go, but Ryan keeps talking about him cause they're friends. That's the only time I talk about him. I have told Ryan we're not to talk about him, but he refuses to heed me request. I'm just thinking that I need to let him talk about Michael and just not say anything mean. Is that the best way to take it? I pray to God all the time and He tells me that. What do you think?
