Stepping Stone #8

Postby donlaw » Sun Jul 15, 2012 2:08 pm

Today before doing my step, my heart was feeling heavy. I was experiencing some sorrow over my divorce. I am still saddened when I think of my husband and where our lives have been led by our hardness and turning away from the Lord and His will for our lives.

I wrote him a poem and emailed it to him. I will share it with you at the end of my journal post.

Today, step 8 reinforced step 7 for me. I am working on pulling those weeds and praying and taking every thought and bringing it into the TRUTH of LIGHT. I have written my husband a time or two during this and attempted to talk to him last night. He is not interested. Hence, my heavy heart. BUT...Praise the Lord that I can bring Him my sorrow and He does comfort me. I thank God for His grace and His mercy. And that He loves me and His will will be accomplished in my life because I am giving Him control of my life. I do pray that for my husband and family as well.

Thank you Jesus, that You loved me so much, you died for me and You cleansed my heart and my mind and brought me back to the Father's love.

God is soooo Good! And I love Him soooo much!

I will continue to work on the charts, and keep pulling those weeds!

Here is the poem I wrote for my husband....

A Poem of Love For My Husband

When we harbor anger and make our hearts bitter
It makes it so easy to become just a quitter

For harboring anger leaves a heart lost
And the pain of what's lost is a frightening cost

Finding forgiveness can be a long road
But the love of our Savior can lighten the load

What God has brought together, let no man put asunder
But it is the same when we, in our hearts, carry the thunder

For to leave behind God's will and plan
Leaves our hearts open to the pride of man

When we let differences make our hearts hard
We tell God that we hold the cards

He wants us to love others as He loves us
It grieves His Spirit when all we do is fight and fuss

The way back home is not as hard as it looks
We need only obey what we read in His book

Prayer is our help and love is our duty
If we are to ever see the wonder of God's beauty

For we wil reap all of His blessings from above
When we choose to walk with God in love

I love you Bill and I forgive you.
