I say day 7 1/2 because yesterday I was too tired (I don't sleep well) & didn't feel I absorbed much of step 7 so I redid it today. I'm pretty proud of myself because today I made the Mind chart in Microsoft word & it came out really good. I would like to share it if I can get permission to do so & find out how. After finishing I had to work on our car, it's overheating because of a blown head gasket & I had to retreat it with some sealant. Since we can't afford to buy another car I have to do what I can To keep this one running. I know it's a stop gap measure so pray that this time it takes. Today I was also reminded of why I sometimes get so depressed & really hate my life. Did some clean up in the car & the house. My wife is really bad at keep up with things & sometimes I feel as though it's all left up to me. I felt bad for a little bit but no fear because I realize that it's nothing compared to what Christ went through on the cross so that I may be forgiven. Thank you all & Thank you God for your love & support. He: God, Jesus, & The Holy Spirit are working in my life & give me the ability to be thankful!!! Tomorrow I'm going to continue on step 7 & go over step 5, start looking at myself, & start writing down what "weeds" I need to start pulling. To all who come to this site, ask God to help you do the stepping stone program & you will see your life start to change. GOD IS VERY GOOD & HE LOVES YOU!!! So much so that He willingly laid down His life for you.

I like to read books on positive thinking. They make me feel good. Many of them are quite old.

I also went to seminars and listened to tapes on them. I was in sales for a number of years, and I can tell you that that stuff is totally true in sales. If you aren't a total optimist when selling, then .... well, you definitely won't win the trip to Hawaii.

I also heard a great, and true story. I believe it was in a Reader's Digest.

A woman talked about a couple who were trapped in a marriage. They dug and ragged on each other a lot. They were trapped due to financial reasons. Neither wanted to be there and they both knew it.

But one day, the husband came home and told the wife how much he appreciated the fact that she cooked dinner every night. And that he knew it was tough sometimes to get good dinners on the table with the money she had available, but that she did a wonderful job and he really appreciated it.

She was so stunned she couldn't talk. But the next day, when he got home from work, she told him that she knew that he didn't love his job but that he got himself there and did a good job to take care of her and the kids. And that she knew that a lot of men wouldn't have done that. And that it was important to her and she really appreciated it. Well, he wasn't as stunned as she had been, but she could tell it really got to him.

From that point on, they both told each other the things they appreciated. And they looked for them. Because it felt so good. Neither had had any appreciation in so long and I'm sure it felt almost like a drug to get that kind of appreciation after so long of starving for it. And they never stopped.

The woman wrote the article for Reader's Digest. She said that the marriage is happy now and things are good. They love each other deeply and wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

And she has NO idea what caused her husband to walk in that day and appreciate her. But it changed their lives in every way possible.

Everybody is doing something right. And we all like to be appreciated.

It is great that you can do things to your car to keep it going when it is on its last legs (wheels ), I wouldn't have any idea what to do to keep a car going like that. I think you are really smart to know that stuff.
