Forgiveness.... Wow, A message i preach to all my friends... That they need to learn to forgive and forget. I even tell a story i learned in sunday school about forgiveness all the time (and a I use a 2 shoe laces and a piece of Card with two holes in it to illustrate this) one lace represents David and The other Sarah
One lace represents David and The other Sarah ... There were 2 siblings, brother (David) and Sister (Sarah) and they would always be fighting with and against each other. David stole sarahs doll and broke it into several pieces, and Sarah in turn would look for davids favorite truck and break off all the doors. (Each time they had an issue of unforgiveness I would Tie a knot in the shoe lace.) One day david went out with his friends against his parents will and sarah found out and told her mom and dad and of course david got into a lot of trouble... sarah laughed and david vowed he would never forgive sarah for it. (I tie a big knot in Davids lace)In sunday school one day sarah and david learned about forgiveness. and sarah forgave david for all he had done to her ( I untie all the knots in sarahs lace and recount each story for emphasis e.g. I forgive david for breaking my doll etc ) and david did too EXCEPT he did not forgive her for "ratting" him out to his parents. (I untie all david knot except that last Big one) Years later when they both died and it was time to go to heaven they both stood at heavens gate. Using the card with the two holes in it i start putting in one end of the sarah's lace through the hole as i say in a "sarah voice" thank you Lord for forgiving all my sins, I love you thank you for accepting me into heaven.. the lace slides right in. Now it is davids turn... same applies, same prayer except he gets stopped by the big knot, i remove the lace and try again same thing happens he gets stopped by the big knot. Then in a "Lord" voice i say... I am sorry david I cannot accept u into heaven as you have not forgiven ur sister for what she did to u soo many years ago.
Funny thing is though even after having told and retold this story so many times... i still haven't forgiven myself. but today is the last day of this... Thank you Jesus for your Grace! I Love you.

Hi Me26, please just know that the story has a great message that you shared...but God does know that we have flaws...and that He forgives because He loves us....that's all He wants is for you to accept His forgiveness....and forgiving yourself is one way of stepping in that direction for sure!

Take care and God Bless
Do you know my Jesus? Do you know my friend? Have you heard He loves you? If not, I'd like to introduce you.
