A Demon's Defeat

One day a demon reported back
And had to account for his failed attack
He hung his head in defeat and shame
They're still blessing God and praising His name
No matter how many troops we deploy
We can't take their peace and we can't take their joy
We try to distract them with with things of the flesh
But they continue to pray and to keep their minds fresh
We try to confuse them with things seen and heard
To keep them from reading and using God's word
It's quite unfortunate that this has to be
But at the name of His Son, we are forced to flee
Just look how many times we've retreated
Maybe we should admit we're already defeated
We probably should have never rebelled
Our arrogance has damned us to hell
At this, Lucifer had nothing to say
He knows God will deal with him one day
As he sends his demon out of the room
He knows its over he's already doomed
And had to account for his failed attack
He hung his head in defeat and shame
They're still blessing God and praising His name
No matter how many troops we deploy
We can't take their peace and we can't take their joy
We try to distract them with with things of the flesh
